Icefest’17 will be held January 26 – January 29, 2017 throughout downtown Chambersburg, PA.  It will feature over 70 custom designed ice sculptures.  Most activities are FREE.

  • The Franklin County Historical Society, 175 East King Street, will host the Council for the Arts Art Show, “Home is Where the Heart Is”
  • The Franklin County Historical Society will also have artwork on display from Charles Stoner
  • The Franklin County Historical Society presents the “Doorways of Chambersburg” Scavenger Hunt.  Packets can be picked up at the Old Jail and MUST be returned on Sunday from 2:00-4:00.  Cash prizes for 1rst, 2nd & 3rd place.  Cost is $8 a participant. $
  • Cumberland Valley School of Music has a variety of FREE activities at Central Presbyterian Church (use side entrance) 10:00-3:00   Coloring Room Open*Individual sessions are subject to change; check  cvsmusic.org and Facebook for updates.

  • “Picture Yourself at the New Coyle”  Stop by J. Bryant Photography, 76 S. Main St., to be photographed with a princess, buy handmade scarves and hats and Disney’s “Frozen” books.  All donations benefit Coyle Renovation.

  • Icing on the Cake  at the Capitol Theatre Wood Center, (sponsored by PDM Insurance) World class cake decorators compete using this year’s theme “The World of Gaming,”  A silent auction will take place, Winner and People’s Choice will be announced after a brief break at 3:30pm. FREE cake 4-5pm $
  • Festival food vendors (on the square) $

  • The Council for the Arts presents “Cups”.  Cups are the “canvases” for this unique gallery exhibition, through February 24, of artistically designed vessels in both hand-blown glass and hand-crafted ceramic mediums.  Artists state-wide will be represented in this unique display of creative, fun, funky, traditional and functional wares.

  • Penn’s Woods Printmakers presents “Prints & Drawings” at 1 North Main Street (former Tito’s Restaurant); the public is welcome and refreshments will be offered.  Penn’s Woods Printmakers is a group of area artists who create etchings, monotypes, collagraphs and other hand-pulled prints.
  • Student artwork from Scotland and Grandview Elementary Schools will be on display at 1 North Main Street and throughout downtown Chambersburg.  Elementary Art teacher, Erin Gillespie, has coordinated a multi-venue exhibition of approximately 500 works of art by students in Scotland’s and Grandview’s K-5th grades, including mixed media, watercolors, pastels and collages.
  • Students of the Chambersburg Area Middle School South’s 8th Grade Art Club will display works of art at PA Counseling Services, 75 S. Main St.  The exhibit will be open to the public with a variety of crafts and games for children of all ages.  the public is welcomed to come and enjoy art-themed activities.  For more info call 717-926-7806

  • Frozen Flicks at the Capitol Theatre (sponsored by Wilson College), join the downtown-wide Clue game scavenger hunt for prizes before the movie “Clue”.  Concessions will be sold, featuring a signature drink.  $

  • The movie “Clue” is showing at the Capitol Theatre FREE admission (sponsored by Wilson College)
  • FREE concert under the BIG TENT on North Main Street-Shane Gamble will open at 5:30, followed by headliner, Jessie Chris, hosted by 104.7 WAYZ.
