What’s Happening? | Saturday, March 14th

Here’s a list of a few opportunities to get out and about Saturday, March 14th in and around Shippensburg!  This is not meant to be a complete list.

The Annual Reading Rainbow Event will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015. The event is held at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 West Orange Street from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Admission is FREE! The first 250 children will receive a FREE book! There will be door prizes! Available for purchase are Books, Food & Drinks, and Caricatures.

Lawilowan American Indian Festival is having an end of winter Pow Wow! It is being held on March 14, 2015 at Shippensburg University Student Rec Center from 10 am till 6 pm. Grand entry is at Noon. During the event there will be Drumming, Singing, Dancing, crafts and vendors, Native food and the Native American Flute Circle. Bring a chair to assure you have a seat. Cost is $5 per person, under 7 and over 65 are free.

The Beistle Company, 1 Beistle Plaza in Shippensburg is hosting a Spring Extravaganza on March 14, 2015. Hours are 8 am till 2 pm. There will be over 55 vendors – yard sale, craft, & small business.

Otterbein Acres’ Open Barn Day this Saturday, March 7 and next Saturday, March 14. Otterbein Acres is located at 10079 Otterbein Church Road, Newburg, PA 17240. Visitors may come between 8 am and 4 pm. There is no parking or entry fee. However, homemade food will be available for sale including Chicken Bar-b-Que, freshly made Donuts, and Sausage sandwiches. Cheese made on the farm, will also be available to try.

The Franklin County Builders Show is an event to find all the services you need to build, landscape or renovate a home. The event is being held at the Chambersburg Mall, in the former Sears store on March 13th-15th Fri 12-8, Sat 10-8, and Sun 11-4. Cost: Admission Adults $3 ($2 with canned good) 16 & under free

Meadowbrooke Gourds, located at 125 Potato Road Carlisle, PA 17015, is having its Spring Fest on two weekends in March.  On March 14 & 15 and March 21 & 22 from 10 am – 4 pm each day you may visit Meadowbrooke Gourds. You may participate in a Workshop to create your own bunny and chick or paint your own eggs and baskets! Workshop hours are 10 am to 3 pm during Spring Fest. Find all the details and specials at Spring Fest 2015. No reservation is needed for this event. All ages are welcome. There is a charge for the workshops. The prices range from $1.00 to $45.00 depending on the gourd you choose to create.

Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic is being held on Saturday,  March 14th at 10 am, children will build a Monster Jam® kit featuring El Toro Loco®! This children’s event is FREE and fun but you must register HERE for this popular event. (This event is currently full in Shippensburg).
