First-time Camper? For $20 you can try Camping in a PA State Park!

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is teaming up with Gander Mountain to get you and your family to camp out under the stars!  For $20, you will get two nights of camping, equipment rental and hands-on instruction on how to camp by state park expert campers.  Colonel Denning in Cumberland County is the closest participating state park to Shippensburg.

You are eligible if you are a first time camper (your name is NOT in the reservation system database on a campsite).

The following camping equipment is provided for your one-time use by Pennsylvania State Parks.

  • 1 four-person tent
  • 4 sleeping pads
  • 1 tarp
  • 4 camp chairs
  • 1 flashlight
  • 1 lantern
  • 1 camp stove
  • 4 hotdog/marshmallow cookers
