Find out if your family can survive colonial life at “Colonist for a Day.”   This FREE event will be held July 18th from 10 am – 2 pm at Colonial Complex (Gates House, Plough Tavern, Bobb Log House & Colonial Court House), 157 W Market St, York, PA.

Hands-on experiences/activities and demonstrations include:

  • cooking over a fire
  • 18th century home remedies
  • carpentry
  • colonial gardening and farming
  • French and Indian War Re-enactors

Take the “Monocacy Trail Challenge,” a real life “board game” inspired by the Oregon Trail. Become a family who actually traveled from Lancaster to York, choose a trade, buy supplies, “ferry” across the Susquehanna, and settle in Yorktown.
