Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend!  

The 33rd Annual Craft Fair at Caledonia State Park will be held Saturday, July 11th from 9 am to 4 pm.  Approximately 150 crafters and artists will have a variety of crafts ranging from jewelry, pottery, baskets, Indian and southwestern crafts, birdhouses, handcrafted furniture, & more.  Free Admission. Also, the Thaddeus Stevens Blacksmith Shop will be open at 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and the Pennsylvania Forest Fire and Heritage Museum in Caledonia State Park, Fayetteville, will be open on Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Caledonia State Park is located at 101 Pine Grove Road, Fayetteville, PA.

Spend a day in the past at the annual Rural Life Festival on Saturday, July 11th.  The Rural Life Festival is hosted by Newburg United Methodist Church, 203 North High St,, Newburg  (3 miles from exit 201 of the PA Turnpike). Admission and parking are FREE for the event, which begins at 9 a.m. rain or shine. Highlights include Antique Farm Machinery, Working Steam Engine, Grain Thrashing, Horse Drawn Binder, Scrapple Making, Fresh Apple Cider, Grain to Loaf Bread Baking, Children’s Pedal Tractor Pull, Horse Wagon Rides, Barrel Train, Children’s Activities, Petting Zoo, Potato raising, Cow Milking, Butter Making, Sheep Shearing, Spinning & Weaving, Quilting, Broom Making, Blacksmith, Wood Working! Homemade soups, Chicken Bar-B-Q, Ice Cream, Hand cut French Fries, Sandwiches & more!

Totem Pole Playhouse, 9555 Golf Course Road, Fayetteville, PA, will present a FREE Children’s Theatre performance of The Tortoise and Hare Race Again at 10 a.m. every Saturday morning in July. This show is suitable for children of all ages.  Stay for a meet & greet after the show and FREE face painting!!

Scoop-A-Palooza is an all you can eat ice cream festival on Saturday, July 11th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Cafeteria of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Kids activities too! Chambersburg’s fireworks display at Memorial Park will be held on Saturday, July 11.

Lowe’s Build & Grow is having their next Build & Grow event on Saturday, July 11th at 10 am.  Bring your child to Lowe’s and they can build Black Widow’s Sky Cycle.  This is part of the “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” Summer series. It is a FREE event but you do need to register here.

The Franklin County Fair is happening now thru July 11, 2015.  Parking is Free.  Franklin County Fair is held at 3725 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg. MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY & SATURDAY ADMISSION $10.00 a Car Load or $5.00 Single Admission & Walk-ins. FRIDAY ADMISSION $10.00 per person (13 yrs and older), $3.00 per person (6 yrs – 12 yrs old), Free (5 yrs and under)

It’s Family Summer Camp time at Bass Pro Shops! Family Summer Camp runs every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, & Sunday noon-5pm starting June 27 through July 26. The closest location to Shippensburg is 3501 Paxton Street, Harrisburg. Every day activities include indoor BB range, archery, casting targets & the carousel from noon-5pm. Craft is offered daily from noon-2pm. The crafts will change each week and will be available while supplies last. Educational workshops for the kids will be scheduled each hour beginning at noon each day.  The topic schedule varies from day to day. A workshop is scheduled to be presented at the top of each hour from noon-4pm. Go HERE for more information.

A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall!

North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, Saturday, July 11th from 8 a.m. to noon.  Over twenty local vendors will offer local produce as well as cheeses, breads, fresh-cut flowers, baked goods, handmade soaps, & MORE. Children ages 3 -12 can sign up for POP (Power of Produce) Club.  Members receive $2 in tokens per market visit to be used on produce or vegetable plant.

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville  Friday – Sunday July 10th – 12th 1st Feature:  Minions (PG) 2nd Feature:  Terminator Genisys (PG-13) Gates open at 7 p.m. First Feature begins at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Michael’s Kids Club is every Saturday from 10 am – Noon for ages 3 and up. For $2 your child can make a seasonal craft for 30 minutes while you shop!  On Saturday, July 11th the children will be doing Foam Printing. Sign up at Classes & Events | Michaels Stores.

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals – Collector Car Show and Swap Meet, Everything Mopar, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, AMC, Jeep, and RAM will be held July 10, 2015 to July 12, 2015 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

Dickinson will host the 20th Annual Bluegrass on the Grass Festival on Saturday, July 11, from noon – 8 p.m. on the Bosler Hall porch on the Dickinson campus, West High Street between West and North College streets. The lawn can be accessed starting at 8:00am on the day of the festival. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. A wide array of vendors will sell food ranging from french fries to Thai food, plus non-alcoholic drinks. Festival is held rain or shine.
