Shippensburg

The 35th Annual Shippensburg Corn Festival will take place downtown on August 29th from 8 am – 4 pm.  More than 250 Craft and food vendors, an antique car show, free family Entertainment and a corn eating contest!  Rain or shine. Most of the Food Vendors will be found in the North Earl Street Food Court, the remainder are sprinkled among the craft vendors along East and West King streets.  Parking information can be found here.

Ace Music 5 Year Anniversary Show will be take place Saturday evening, August 29th from 7 pm – 11 pm at the Thought Lot, 37 E Garfield St, Shippensburg. Line Up:  Echo Threefold – a rock/blues band; Unconventional Origin – Rock/Blues/Metal band; Acoustic Juice – 2-piece band featuring the husband and wife team of Randy and Tammy Karstetter; and Evan Crider.
Doors open at 6, music starts at 7 – $10 at the door.

Beyond Shippensburg

Stoner’s Dairy Farm, 7678 Oellig Rd, Mercersburg, offers plenty of weekend Fall farm activities beginning this Saturday, August 29th.  Corn maze, hay rides, & more.  Hours are Saturday, noon – 10 pm. Please visit their website for details.

Eat Sleep Run GLOW 5k will take place at Norlo Park on Friday, August 28th at 8 pm.  Same day registration beginning at 6 pm.

The annual Corvettes at Carlisle event will be held Aug 28-30, 2015 and features more than 5,000 Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. The theme this year is a SALUTE TO SERVICE, with many activities in honor of our servicemen and heroes.
Adult Admission: Thurs-Sat:$15. Sun:$10. Event Pass $35. Kids under 12 are free.
Gate Times: Thu.-Sat. 7am-6pm , Sun. 7am-3pm

Downtown Summer Slide Festival (West Washington Street in Hagerstown ) will take place on Saturday, August 29th from 11 am – 4 pm. 825-foot-long water slide, live bluegrass & Americana music inside beer garden in University Plaza, free kids activities, food vendors and more. $25-$40/slide tickets, $10/beer garden.

Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Annual Fall Show The event will include steam traction engines, an old PRR steam train, antique tractors, working saw mill, model train exhibit, food, flea market stands, and live music. Sunday, August 30 through Monday, September 7

The Mary-Penn Bed and Breakfast, 716 Mason Dixon Rd, Gettysburg is hosting Mason and Dixon Day on Saturday, August 29th from 9 am – 10 pmDay long living history event, craft vendors, food ,wine, beer, hard cider locally crafted. Free concert Irish band Down By the Glenside.

Rib and Pulled Pork Extravaganza at Scotland Campus, 3583 Scotland Rd., Chambersburg.  Scotland Campus, Holy Smokehouse BBQ, and Kristtany Food Service and Catering are hosting the fundraiser on Saturday, August 29, 2015, 11am-3pm, or until the food runs out.   Each meal comes with baked beans, coleslaw, roll & butter, and a soda. FREE Bass Pro Shops Next Generation Event on August 29 & 30. Your kids can take their turn using a bow to win prizes, try out the BB gun range, participate in FREE crafts, and much more!

The 2015 Abandoned Turnpike Adventure in Breezewood, PA will take place Saturday, August 29th. The day will begin with an event from 9 AM to 10:30 AM for the breakfast at the Gateway Travel Plaza Restaurant and discussion. There will be open discussion of the abandoned turnpike, its history and geocaching along the trail. All are invited to continue the day to the Abandoned Turnpike and a day of hiking and/or biking the abandoned turnpike. View the Facebook Event HERE!

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire at Mount Hope Estate returns this Saturday, Aug. 29 & Sunday Aug. 30 with the Scottish & Irish theme. The Faire features costumed characters, themed entertainment, music, dancing, 90 shows daily, 22 royal kitchens, artisan merchants, and handcrafted wares. Mount Hope Estate is located in Northern Lancaster County at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. The event is rain or shine.  Gates open 11 am and close at 8 pm.

A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall!

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville Aug. 28 – Aug. 30. First Feature Jurassic World (PG-13).  Second Feature The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (PG-13) Gates open at 7 p.m. First Feature begins at approximately 8:20 p.m.

Michael’s Kids Club is every Saturday from 10 am – Noon for ages 3 and up. For $2 your child can make a seasonal craft for 30 minutes while you shop!  On Saturday, August 29 the children will be making a bookmark. Sign up at Classes & Events | Michaels Stores.

North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, Chambersburg continues on Saturday, August 29 from 8 a.m. to noon.  Over twenty local vendors will offer local produce as well as cheeses, breads, fresh-cut flowers, baked goods, handmade soaps, & MORE. Children ages 3 -12 can sign up for POP (Power of Produce) Club.  Members receive $2 in tokens per market visit to be used on produce or vegetable plant.
