Shippensburg

Uprise Fest 2015 Twenty musical artists will play on three stages. Food vendors, an art gallery, petting zoo, inflatables, children’s tent, skate park, volleyball, graffiti wall, laser tag, and more!  September 18 & 19th at Shippensburg Fairgrounds.

Bubba’s Country Music Festival: Featuring Tyler Farr, Eric Paslay, Parmalee, Trick Pony, Mo Pitney, Clare Dunn, and Dee Jay Silver. The evening will end with a performance by The Band Perry. September 20th 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Shippensburg Fairgrounds.

2015 Peace 4 Paws takes place on Saturday, Sept. 19th.  It is part of the Cumberland Valley Race Series, and includes a Pet Friendly 5K Run/Walk and a 1 mile Kids Fun Run. It benefits the Better Days Animal League. Online registration is open and will close on Friday September 18 at 4:00 PM. Same day registration and packet pickup will begin at 7:30 AM at the Shippensburg Township Park, 304 Britton Rd.

A special POW/MIA event will take place at Shippensburg Township Park, Britton Rd. on Saturday Sept. 19th from 11 am – 4pm.  Traveling Memorial Wall, Barbecue, Live music.  Free, $3 cooler fee.

The Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School invites the community to its Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19th from 4-7pm behind GBLUES & Shippen Hall on the Shippensburg University campus.  There will be food and family-friendly activities, including games, crafts, bounce house, carriage rides, and more. Wristbands are $5 for activities/games/crafts.

Beyond Shippensburg

Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest is an free event held every fall on a Franklin County farm. This year, Dennis and Lisa Diehl (Cornerstone Dairy) welcome you to tour their working dairy farm on Saturday, September 19th from 10 am – 3 pm.  The farm is located at 241 Mickey Inn Road, Chambersburg. There will be children’s activities, farm wagon tours, free milk and ice cream, & MORE.  Lunch is available for purchase at the FFA food stand.

Chambersburg Downtown Summer Movie Series, Fort Chambers Park:  Free Saturday, Sept. 19th showing of the classic 1950’s Cinderella movie at dusk. (This was previously scheduled for last Saturday but was rained out).

Kid’s Closet Connection -Cumberland County Kids Consignment Sale September 18th 5PM-8PM September 19th 9AM – 6 PM; September 20th 9AM – 2 PM Carlisle Fire & Rescue Services – Banquet Hall, 177 Carlisle Springs Road, Carlisle.

The Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club will hold an open house on September 19th from 11am. to 4pm. The club is located at 440 Nelson St., Chambersburg and displays 10 gauges of trains including an operating LEGO & Thomas layout.  Free admission.

Royer Farmstead “Walk Back In Time” Tours will take place on Sat., September 19th beginning at 11 am till 4 pm at Renfrew Museum & Park, 1010 E. Main St., Waynesboro. Meet at Visitors Center. Tour the farmstead with guides in period clothing.  Horse drawn wagons rides.  $8, adults; $7, seniors; $5, students ages 7-18; free, children under 7.

Two Top Ruritan Club Show Steam & Gas, 12270 2 Top Rd., Mercersburg will be held Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20.  Tractor pull, arts and crafts, homemade food and more.  View the event flyer- Steam & Gas 2015.

Founders Day at Lake Tobias will be held this Saturday, Sept 19th 11am-3pm. Free kid’s activities, pony rides & face painting, as well as prize giveaways, and complimentary pork sandwiches.  Lake Tobias Wildlife Park is in Dauphin County at 760 Tobias Road, Halifax.
 
Fall Fest at Hagerstown City Park on Saturday, September 19th. Four museums and historic sites in the park collaborate to bring activities from 11am to 4pm including family art, living history, relics of antiquity, animals, rides, and food.

Stoner’s Dairy Farm, 7678 Oellig Rd, Mercersburg, offers plenty of weekend Fall farm activities.  Corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo & more.  Hours are Fridays 7 – 10 pm (Flashlight Maze), Saturday, noon – 10 pm & Sunday noon – 5 pm. Please visit their website for details.

Country Creek Produce Farm,  Etter Rd, Chambersburg is gearing up for its Fall Season which begins on Saturday, September 19 and continues through October 31, 2015. The farm’s attractions include a corn maze and pumpkin patch. Country Creek Event Flyer

Paulus Orchards, 522 East Mount Airy Road, Dillsburg has opened for its Fall Season.  5 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, pick your own apples, and enjoy some fun in PlayLand with tube slides, corn box, tether ball, giant checker game, little log house, spider web, peddle carts, rubber duck races & more.  All day Weekend Farm Admission $7 (ages 3 and up). Seniors $5 (age 65+). Children 2 and under are free.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire: Time Travelers at Mount Hope Estate will be held Sept. 19 & 20. The Faire features costumed characters, themed entertainment, music, dancing, 90 shows daily, royal kitchens, artisan merchants, and handcrafted wares. Mount Hope Estate is located in Northern Lancaster County at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. The event is rain or shine.  Gates open 11 am and close at 8 pm.

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville. Friday, Saturday September 18th & 19th  1st Feature:  The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (PG-13); 2nd Feature:  Poltergeist (PG-13)  Gates Open at 7 p.m.  First feature begins at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Michael’s Kids Club is every Saturday from 10 am – Noon for ages 3 and up. For $2 your child can make a seasonal craft for 30 minutes while you shop!  On Saturday, Sept. 19th the children will be making a Fall Hand Print Tree. Sign up at Classes & Events | Michaels Stores.
