Tiny World

Tiny World will NOT be lighting up for the 2020 Christmas Season due to the pandemic. The miniature village along Rice Road in Shippensburg is expected to be open and lighted for the holidays in 2021.

Bell Avenue Christmas Lights

Bell Avenue Lights have been delighting passersby for over ten years!  Bell Avenue Christmas Lights, located near Sollenberger Road and Bell Avenue in Chambersburg, features a light show with thousands of LED lights. The lights turn on, off, and change color in perfect time to the music!  When you arrive, tune to 106.5FM to enjoy the show and holiday music. The lights are on Sunday – Thursday from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM and Friday – Saturday from 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM. The show may not run during bad weather.

Directions:

  1. Go west from Chambersburg on Route 30, and turn right on Sollenberger Road at the traffic light (Sollenberger Rd is just after Sheetz and before Route 30 traffic becomes two-way).
  2. Go exactly two miles and then turn right onto Bell Avenue just before the entrance to Majestic Ridge.
  3. Show Address: 1716 Bell Ave, Chambersburg.

Light Display Mallard Drive

The Little Family’s Christmas Lights at 1290 Mallard Drive East in Chambersburg will run from December 1st through January 1, 5:30 pm – 10 pm.  The Christmas Light Spectacular is in support of The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.  See last year’s animated lights set to music HERE.

2020 Update:  The Eck Family is planning a 2020 display.  Information will be updated as it becomes available.

Jim and Shelva Eck of Mont Alto have approximately 30,000 Christmas lights on display.  They have hung the lights and trimmed the trees, oh what a sight to see! To see the lights at their best, take Route 997 to the Mont Alto Fire hall. Turn on to Walnut Street and go all the way to the end until you see a No Outlet sign. Turn left onto Locust Street and go to the stop sign. When you look to the left you will see the lights from the backyard.  You are welcome to walk through the yard, enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy the sights that you see!  For your safety, please only walk within the lighted paths.  When parking your car do not park in the townhouse parking lot as it is a private parking lot for the townhouse residents. There is plenty of parking along Jones Avenue. Hours for the lights are Sunday through Thursday dark until 9 PM and Friday & Saturday from dark until 10 PM.

 

Marion Light Display (Kennedy Family)

 

Marion Light Display2020 Update:  There is not a light display at 113 Kennedy Street in Marion.  Enjoy a display of thousands of LED lights at 113 Kennedy St, Marion (south of Chambersburg, PA right off Exit 10 and Rt 11).  Turn your car radio to 89.9 FM and enjoy the Christmas music!

Fulton County Festival of Lights

2020 Update: The Fulton County Festival of Lights will not be taking place in 2020.

The Fulton County Festival of Lights is a “Drive Through” Christmas Light Display located at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in McConnellsburg. The Christmas Light Displays are set up along the roadways throughout the fairgrounds where visitors will drive through the event in their own vehicles.  Each vehicle will receive a voting sheet when they enter the fairgrounds and will be able to cast one vote for their favorite display in various categories.

The 2015 Festival of Lights will be held Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5 and the following week Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12. The times are 5 pm – 10 pm on all nights.  Visitors to the light display enter through the upper fairgrounds gate and pay $4 per vehicle.

There will be a live nativity scene as well as model train in operation.  Near the end of the light display, drop in at the Festival of Lights Welcome Center in the fair’s rabbit barn to visit Santa and have free refreshments.  There will also be a Yule Log to toast marshmallows and make s’mores outside.  For additional information visit Fulton County Festival of Lights.

Hersheypark Christmas Candylane

This year, Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is double the size with 4 million lights. They have an additional 9 new rides – including 4 coasters – Cocoa Cruiser, Wildcat, Laff Trakk, and sooperdooperLooper. There are more than 20 kiddie rides available.  You can see the Hershey’s Characters in their holiday best, Santa with his live reindeer, and the sights and sounds of the season with 3 holiday-themed entertainment shows. Chocolate World is also open during Christmas In Hershey.  Opens Friday, November 13 and continues with select dates until December 31st.

Admission to Candylane is regularly $18 for ages 3 and up.   Children ages 2 and younger are FREE.  You can buy discounted tickets at Giant with your Bonus card for $15.85.

Parking is an additional $9 per vehicle.

Hershey Sweet Lights

Hershey Sweet Lights is a two-mile wooded trail that allows visitors to view nearly 600 illuminated, animated displays while driving through in their vehicles. Visitors listen to holiday music that is synchronized to the lights show via a customized radio broadcast inside their vehicles. Hershey Sweet Lights opens Nov. 13 and will remain open through Jan. 1. Admission per car/minivan: $19.15 Sunday-Thursday and $24.15 Friday-Saturday. $32.15 per large capacity vehicle (seats 9-15). From Hersheypark Drive, go north on Sand Beach Road for approximately 1/2 mile. Follow signs to Boathouse Road to Sweet Lights entrance.

 

Christmas Magic: A Festival of Lights

Christmas Magic: A Festival of Lights at Ridge County Park, York County is a half-mile walking trail featuring 600,000 lights creating holiday displays. Activities include visits with Santa, G-gauge train display, the “Light-O-Rama” animation display, nightly entertainment and food.  Through Dec. 31 (closed December 24 and 25), Hours: 6-9 p.m. weekdays; 5-9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.  Admission: $8 adults; $7 seniors 60+, $6 ages 4-12. No credit cards accepted (ATM on-site). The park is located east of York, 1.5 miles north of Route 30, off Mount Zion Road (Rte. 24) at 3699 Deininger Road, York, PA 17406.

Zoolights

ZooLights at the National Zoo in Washington, DC is a holiday event transforming the zoo into a winter wonderland.   Animal silhouettes, musical light displays, and a garden scene light sculpture are featured in more than 500,000 lights!  The event runs from November 27 – January 1 from 5 pm – 9 pm (closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve).  ZooLights is powered by Pepco and is free with no tickets required.  Visitors can warm up inside the animal houses and enjoy nocturnal animals.  The Small Mammal House, Great Ape House, Reptile Discovery Center, Think Tank, and Kids’ Farm will be open every night.  Guests may ride the Conservation Carousel for $3 ride. Lion/Tiger Hill will have three 150′ long “snow tubing” tracks!  For $3 a ride you can plunge down the snow-less track. The National Zoo Choo-Choo is a trackless train which will carry guests all around the Kids’ Farm exhibit that features views of the Zoo’s holiday light displays. $3 per ride. The National Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC.  The best way to get to the Zoo is to take the Metro. The closest stations are Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan and Cleveland Park.  Every Saturday night enjoy a complimentary shuttle ride from the Woodley Park metro station to the Zoo. Read more HERE.
