Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade in Shippensburg is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2016. The Rain Date is Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

Trick or Treat

The annual Treats not Tricks at Shippensburg University will be held Monday, October 24th from 6-8 PM in all of the residence halls in campus. Tour guides will be available at each hall to help families.

Trick or Treat is scheduled for Monday, October 31 6 PM – 8 PM for Shippensburg Borough, Southampton Township, Franklin County, and Southampton Township, Cumberland County.

Halloween Alternative/Fall Festivals

Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School is hosting its annual Fall Festival Saturday, October 8 from 4-7 PM. The family-friendly event features games, fall-themed crafts, a bounce house, bake sale treats, and Chili Cook-off. $5/activity band or $15 family. Everyone is welcome!

Life Community Church at 2249 Roxbury Rd in Shippensburg will be hosting their annual Family Fall Fest on Saturday October 15th from 11:00-3:00. There will be games, inflatables, hot dogs, candy, face painting, crafts, hay ride, and petting zoo…all for FREE!image

The Southampton Cumberland Park and Recreation (56 Cleversburg Rd) is hosting a Fall Fling on October 15th 11 AM – 4:30PM.  6 Bounce Houses ($5 for an all-day pass), Pumpkin Patch, Chicken Corn Soup, Carmel Apples, Cotton Candy, Whoopie Pies, Face Painting, Pony Rides, Vendors, Live Music, Pizza, Hot Chocolate, Kettle Corn.  There will be a candy hunt for children ages 5 and under at 4:30PM.

MOMS Club of Shippensburg, a local support group for at-home moms, is having a Halloween Open House Play Date at the Cleversburg Community Center on October 19th, 10 AM – 1 PM.  Food, games and a costume contest for kids and moms.  Email shipmomsclub@gmail for more information.

Pumpkin Patch Playtime will be held October 22 1 PM – 4 PM.  $5: Pumpkin Painting; Bobbing for Apples; Pumpkin Bowling; Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin and Fishing for Candy. Ticket prices $5/child or $20/immediate family.  The Local Gathering Church of the Nazarene is located at 611 Shippensburg Rd (Newburg Rd Rt. 696; Half Mile past the Ridge Road).

imageThe Halloween Alternative, Light In The Night 2016 hosted by Mongul United Brethren will be October 31st from 6 PM – 8 PM.  This free fun-filled family event is held at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road and includes music, inflatables, hay maze, food, crafts and candy.  Costumes optional.

Southampton Township, Franklin County, Shippensburg Borough and Shippensburg Community Parks & Recreation Authority are teaming up to host a Fall Fest on Saturday, October 29th from  6 PM – 8 PM at Memorial Park.  This is a free community event & social gathering which includes candy for trick or trunk and family fun activities.  Food available for purchase.

Events

Haunted History at the Shippensburg History Center will feature dark and scary stories of Shippensburg.  Stories of historic murder, mystery, and mayhem will be presented during a special tour at the Stewart House.  Entry tickets are $3/Members or $5/General Admission.  Dates and times are as follows:  October 21 at 7 PM, October 22 at 9:30 PM (after the parade), and October 28 at 7 PM and 8:30 PM. Cider and donuts will follow each tour.

The Relay For Life events of Shippensburg and Shippensburg University will be sponsoring the first annual Halloween 5K and Fun run to benefit The American Cancer Society. Get into the spirit of Halloween by wearing your favorite costume to the race and supporting a good cause! Onsite registration and check in will be Saturday, October 22 from Noon – 1 PM at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road. The race will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.  Register Online HERE.

James Burd Elementary will be having their Costume Parade on October 28th.  Parents and the community are invited from 1:45 PM – 3PM.

The Shippensburg Swing Band’s  7th annual Halloween Dinner Dance will be held Friday, October 28, 2016.  The Dinner Dance will be at Premier Events, E. Orange St. from 7 PM – 10 PM. $30 Dinner & Dance; $10 Dance Only.  Dance only tickets (8 PM – 10 PM) can be purchased at door. There will be a costume contest with prizes. All Hallow’s Day Party is a Halloween Party held in Hollar Hall at Christ United Methodist Church on 47 E. King Street in Shippensburg.  All ages are invited from 5 PM – 8 PM. There will be prizes, games and food. Costumes are optional.
