South Central PA’s Easter Egg Hunt List (2017)!

Spring is Coming!  Easter is Sunday, April 16th.  We have compiled an amazing list of egg hunts and kid-friendly 2017 Easter events in the South Central PA area.


Saturday, April 1  MECHANICSBURG

Silver Spring Township will host its free Community Egg Hunt at 11AM on April 1st at Pleasant View Park, 90 Pleasant View Drive. The hunt is for children ages 10 and younger, and children should bring their own baskets. The Easter Bunny will stop by, and there will be prize baskets and two bicycles given away.

Saturday, April 1  MARION

On April 1, join Marion 1st United Methodist Church (94 Colorado Street) for their yearly community Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10AM. 


Friday, April 7  CHAMBERSBURG

Franklin Hardware & Pet will be hosting pet photos with the Easter bunny on Friday April 7th from 4PM – 7PM.


Saturday, April 8  SHIPPENSBURG

On April 8, 1PM there will be an Egg hunt and activities at the Ridge Church of the Brethren, 1095 Ridge Road, Shippensburg.  This FREE event includes Story, Craft, Games, Hot dogs, & Diverse Prize Eggs.  Three age divisions:  ages 1-3, age 4-1st grade, and 2nd-5th grade.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Shippensburg Public Library is April 8 for children ages 2-12.  11AM; 11:30AM; Noon.  Bring your own basket.  Please call 530-4508 to register.

Enjoy an Easter Bunny Breakfast at Memorial Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall on April 8.  Breakfast will be served from 8AM -11AM.  Crafts, Activities, and Door Prizes.  This is a FREE event.  Breakfast will include Pancakes, Sausage, Fruit Cup, & Donut Holes.  Reservations are appreciated but drop-ins are welcome.  Contact the church office at 532-4614 or office@memluth.org.

Saturday, April 8  MONT ALTO

Community Easter egg hunt sponsored Mont Alto Fire Department. For ages 12 and younger. 12:30 PM activities, 1:30 PM egg hunt. Mont Alto Fire Department Events Complex carnival grounds, Mont Alto.  Activities include face painting, crafts, coloring, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Saturday, April 8 ORRTANNA

Registration is now open for Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum’s FREE annual Bunny Party and Easter Egg Hunt.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 with hunts at 11AM and 2PM.  There are three age divisions: 12 months to 3 Years, 4-6 Years and 7-10 Years.  The only way to register is by going HERE for the 11AM hunt or HERE for the 2PM hunt

Saturday, April 8 GETTYSBURG

The Outlet Shoppes of Gettysburg will have an Easter Event on April 8 from Noon – 2PM.  Meet with the Easter bunny, bring your camera. Games and prizes. Complimentary face painting and carriage rides.

Saturday, April 8  CHAMBERSBURG

A Children’s Easter Celebration will be April 8th at the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, from 10AM to Noon.   Meet the Family Life Center for a family-friendly morning of Easter-themed crafts, activities and games, enjoy a snack and end the morning hunting for Easter eggs with age-appropriate egg hunts.  This event is free and open to all.

Redeemer Church is hosting an Egg Hunt on April 8th from 4PM – 6PM at Andrew Buchanan Elementary School.  Egg-hunt, craft, & Easter Story. To help plan for this event, participants must pre-register HERE.

M&S Harley’s Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 8 from Noon – 3PM.  Egg hunt, prize eggs for all age groups. 

It’s almost time for the Easter Egg Hunt at Menno Haven! Children ages 10 and under (along with their parents!) are invited Saturday, April 8th at 9AM on the Front Lawn of Menno Haven on Scotland Avenue to search for Easter eggs and visit with the Easter Bunny.

Saturday, April 8  WAYNESBORO/ROUZERVILLE

Family Life Worship Center is having their annual Community Easter Fun Day and Egg Hunt (ages 0 – 11) on April 8 from Noon – 2PM.  There will be games, food, coloring station, photo booth, inflatables, basket giveaway and egg hunt!  Rain date: April 15 12-2 pm

Zullinger Community Center will be holding it’s annual Easter Egg Hunt April 8th at 11AM. Areas will be marked off per ages! Each age will go off at different times to give parents with more than one child chances to see them all collect eggs.   Bring your baskets. 

A Breakfast with the Easter Bunny followed by an Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt will be April 8, 8AM – 10AM at the Rouzerville Ruritan Club.  Cost:  $6/adults; $3 Children 12 and under.  Pay at the door.  For more information call 717-977-6358.

Newville Assembly of God (403 Oak Flat Road) is hosting a Community-wide EGG Hunt EGGstravaganza on April 8 at 1PM.  5,000+ Eggs; Ages 12 and under.  Please bring your own basket.

Saturday, April 8  CARLISLE

Come to downtown Carlisle on Saturday April 8, from Noon – 3PM for the fifth annual Bunny Hop.  Kids twelve and under are invited to  dress in their “Sunday Best” for a hop around downtown Carlisle to collect treats.  On the day of the event, a map of “Bunny Hop Stops” can be picked up at Georgie Lou’s Retro Candy, 56 W High Street, which will detail participating businesses.


Sunday, April 9 SHIPPENSBURG

Southampton Cumberland Twp. Park and Recreation will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on April 9th at 2 PM.  ALL are welcome.  The egg hunt will be on the Soccer fields at 140 Airport Rd, Shippensburg.

An Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, April 9, 2PM – 4PM.

Sunday, April 9 NEWVILLE

A Community Egg Hunt sponsored by Big Spring Heights Church of God and the Bull Dog Prep Academy will be held on April 9 from 3PM – 5:30PM.  Free food, carnival games, balloon animals, free kids meal cards, and prizes! The prizes will be handed out after a kid friendly service with Jesz-Me and Sparky from Clowns for Christ.  All kids, walking thru Grade 5, are invited.

Sunday, April 9 WAYNESBORO

Come join Redneck Outlaws Inc. for an afternoon of fun on April 9th.  Easter Egg Hunt will be broken down into age groups from toddlers to 12 years of age.  Music/entertainment.  Egg painting station and prizes.  Concessions will be available along with a donation jar.  Outdoor event held at Pine Hill Recreation Area from 1PM to 5PM.

Sunday, April 9 CHAMBERSBURG (DOGS)

The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will hold their fourth annual Easter Hound Hunt at 2PM Sunday, April 9, at the shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West.  Registration will be at 1 p.m. or prior to the event at cvas-pets.org.  Thousands of plastic Easter eggs will be stuffed with dog treats and participants are asked to bring their dogs for the hunt. Specially marked eggs can be redeemed for prizes. Cost for participation is a minimum $5 donation to the shelter. Following the hunt, the shelter will hold an Easter bonnet contest. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded. Easter photos will also be taken by donation.


Friday, April 14 SHIPPENSBURG

Friday, April 14th at 10 AM, Elmcroft on Walnut Bottom Road in Shippensburg will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt (ages 0-10) with a special appearance from the Easter Bunny.  Snacks and juice will be served.  Bring your Easter basket to collect eggs.


Saturday, April 15 MERCERSBURG

On April 15 from Noon – 2 PM at Clayton Memorial Church there will be a Big Egg Hunt featuring 20,000 Easter Eggs.  Bounce house and slide combos, special surprise appearances by Cookie from Sweet Frog, giveaways, FREE hot dogs while supplies last, and more.

Saturday, April 15 SHIPPENSBURG

Mongul United Brethren will hold its 8th annual Easter Eggs-travaganza on Saturday, April 15th from 10-Noon (with registration opening at 9:15) at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road!  This FREE event includes food, activities and crafts for the kids – plus giveaways! There will be over 10,000 eggs for the hunt.   Start times for the egg hunt are staggered by age group:   10:00 – 3 and under;  10:10 – 4-5 years;  10:20 – 6-7 years;  10:30 – 8-11 years;  10:40 – Special Needs (16 & under);  11:00 – Giveaways

The Local Gathering Church of the Nazarene (611 Shippensburg Rd) will hold an Easter Egg Hunt with Silly Saturdays Weird Animals on April 15 from 10 AM – Noon.  This is a FREE event with music, craft, egg hunt, and full lunch.  The age groups will be 0-3; 4-5; 6-7; and 8-10 years old.

Saturday, April 15 ORRSTOWN

An Egg Hunt will be held at Orrstown UB Church on April 15 from 10AM – Noon.  Crafts, games and the Resurrection story and egg hunt.  Ages are birth -12 yrs old (there will be an area for toddlers and special needs children).

Saturday, April 15 NEWVILLE

The Green Spring First Church of God will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 1PM.  Approximately 4,000 filled eggs will cover the church grounds.  Children will be split into age groups: 3 and under, 4-6, 7-8, and 9-10, and area for special needs guests.  Refreshments will be served following the egg hunt. Rain or shine.

Saturday, April 15 NEWBURG

The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Newburg-Hopewell Special Fire Police will be held on April 15th at 1:30PM.  Ages 0 – 12.  Egg hunt is held rain or shine at Newburg First Church of God.

Saturday, April 15 CHAMBERSBURG

The Great Surprise: Jesus is Alive Event and Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 15, at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 346 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg. Eggsplosion 2017 is coming to Antrim Township Park, Saturday April 15.  The Paw Patrol will be there – Skye and Marshall.  Mickey & Minnie Mouse too.  Candy for each child and prizes for eggs with a token.  Eggsplosion for ages 0-4, 5-8, and 9 – teen.  Food stands, pictures with your favorite character. Face painting, games for all ages.

Saturday, April 15 ST. THOMAS

Come enjoy the St .Thomas Assembly Of God Easter Egg Hunt held at the St. Thomas baseball field on April 15, 10 AM – 11:30 AM.  This is a FREE event!  They will be dropping eggs from a helicopter onto the egg site and afterwards, your children can have fun snatching up as many eggs as they can.  Hotdogs, popcorn, bounce houses, and carnival games too.  Preregister HERE and skip the line.  Bring your confirmation page to the check in table.

Saturday, April 8 & April 15 HERSHEY

The AACA Museum is having an Easter Special!  The museum is offering FREE admission for children (up to age 12) with a paid regular admission on April 8 & 15. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Tickets must be purchased at the door. Guests will hunt to find a variety of “egg spots” within the main and lower levels of the Museum. Treats will be given to each child 12 and under at these treat locations.  Be sure to see the Easter Bunny.  Hot dogs, popcorn, and bunny juice (pink lemonade!) will be served while supplies last.

Steam Into History is offering an Easter train ride, the Eggspecially Fun Bunny Run with banjo and guitar player, Jeff Greenawalt. Visit and take photos with the Easter Bunny while riding on the train. Your 45 minute ride will take you along the beautiful rail trail with song and stories. Once you are back at the station in New Freedom, children will be invited to participate in an egg hunt. Ride Time(s): 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm

Easter Bunny Trolley

Saturday April 8 ROCKHILL FURNANCE

Easter Bunny Trolley will operate Saturday, April 8 from 10 AM – 4:30 PM.  Ride aboard a historic trolley car at the Rockhill Trolley Museum to Blacklog Narrows where the Easter Bunny will board your trolley to greet each passenger. All children 13 and under will receive a free gift. Balloon creations, face painting and additional activities will be available.
