Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend in Shippensburg and Beyond!

Shippensburg

Dutch Country Store will be celebrating their 16th anniversary on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.  Free Coffee and Refreshments. 10% off storewide! Located at 10 Mooney Road, Shippensburg (near Walnut Bottom, off Stoughstown Road).

On Friday night, Feb. 24th the Shippensburg Area Intermediate School PTO will be having a Winterfest at the school from 5 PM – 8 PM.  This is a community event which features inflatables, games, and silent auction.  Food is available for purchase.

Ship Swag Soiree Night will be held Friday, Feb. 24 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at 208 E. King Street.  Enjoy deals with local vendors and a chance to walk away with raffle prizes. Your $10 ticket will include a swag bag with gifts from the committee and vendor deals, raffle ticket, food, drinks, music and tips and tricks from each vendor.  For tickets and additional information visit here.

The Annual Reading Rainbow Event sponsored by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee will be held on Saturday, February 25 8 AM – Noon.  The event is held at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 West Orange Street.  Admission is FREE!   For more information see our calendar here.

Book Nook at the Shippensburg Public Library has all hardback books buy one get one free in February.

There is a Winter rummage sale at The Local Gathering (611 Shippensburg Road) on Saturday, Feb. 25th from 8AM – 2PM.  Food and drinks available.

The Police Unity Tour Bingo will be Sunday, February 26th at the Shippensburg Fire Fighters Activity Center. Doors open at 10:30 with the meal at 11:30 to 12:45. The Cash Bingo will begin at 1 PM. If interested please contact 717.961.1338.  Police Unity Tour is coming up in May. This tour raises awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty.  

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641.  The roller skating rink is open for public skating on Friday evenings from 7-9 PM Admission is only $4 and skate rentals are $1.  Kids 6 and under are FREE and non-skating adults are FREE.

Chambersburg

Chick-fil-A Chambersburg is offering a FREE Coffee Friday on February 24th.  Come in for breakfast (6:30 AM – 10:30 AM) and enjoy a free medium hot coffee.  No purchase necessary.

The Franklin County Builders Show is being held at the Chambersburg Mall on Friday, Feb. 24 (10 AM – 9 PM), Saturday, Feb. 25 (10 AM – 9 PM), and Sunday, Feb. 26 (Noon – 5 PM).  FREE Admission.  Bring a can good item to support Salvation Army Food Bank.  New this year is a silent auction to benefit the FCBA Scholarship Fund.  To view the auction listing go here.

Franklin Clothing is having a President’s Day Sale beginning February 22 through February 25.  Hours:  Wednesday – Friday 11AM – 4:30 PM and Saturday 10 AM – 2 PM.  Franklin Outlet Store is located at 5121 Innovation Way, Building 6 in Chambersburg (Letterkenny).

Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg

Pajama Day at Monkey Joe’s in Camp Hill is Friday, February 24.  Put on your favorite pair of PJ’s and get $5 admission and $1 pizza slices all day from 10 AM – 8 PM.  Monkey Joe’s is a fun-filled inflatable play center with wall-to-wall inflatable slides, jumps, and obstacle courses. The play center is suitable for kids 12 years-old and younger.

On Saturday, February 25, USA Hockey and over 300 local associations across the country will host Try Hockey For Free Day. Participating locations encourage kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Hockey Week Across America. Gettysburg

Heidlersburg Fire Company has their 2nd annual Fishing Show & Flea Market on Saturday February 25th 9 AM to 3 PM and  Sunday February 26th 9 AM to 2 PM.  Regular admission: $4 adults.  Rain or snow! New and used fishing merchandise, fishing displays, freshwater tackle, Charter captains, meals and refreshments available, door prizes and Raffles, saltwater gear, heated indoor facility, kids casting competitions all day both days sponsored by Tom’s custom baits.

Hershey

Zoo America has $6 Fridays where all visitors get in for $6 every Friday during the winter through March 2017. Admission is regularly $11 per person for ages 9-54, $9 for ages 3-8 & 55+, and free for ages 2 and under.
