SHIPPENSBURG/ORRSTOWN

Lurgan Greenhouse & Nursery will be holding their Fall Event & Customer Appreciation Days on Thursday, September 21st 8AM – 6PM, Friday, September 22nd 8AM – 6PM, and Saturday, September 23rd 8AM – 5PM.  There will be door prizes, coffee & donuts, and bargain buy door-busters.

Terrarium Evening Fundraiser for The Local Gathering will be held Friday, September 22 at 7PM.  Beth Loftus of “Inside the Glass” will be guiding an evening of putting a ½ gallon glass container together to make a terrarium.  The cost is $35 each and RSVP paid by Sept. 21.

Volvo Construction Equipment is hosting a FREE Community Open House on Saturday, September 23.  From 10AM – 2PM, the public is invited to enjoy self-guided plant tours, machine shows, games, inflatables, WITF’s “Ready, Set, Explore”  kids activities, snacks & refreshments, and more!

Join Sid the Science Kid at Volvo Construction Equipment in Shippensburg on September 23.  Bring the family and join in the fun anytime between 10AM – 2PM.  Make fun crafts, explore fun science and math activities, see real construction vehicles, meet Sid the Science Kid.

Wiffle Mania will be held Sept. 23 at STCC Multipurpose Center Park.  Games start at 9AM.

Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, D.O.I.T. and SADCO have joined forces to bring a Beer and Wine Festival to Shippensburg.  On September 23, enjoy beer & wine tastings, live music, games of chance, yard games & food!  Attendees MUST be 21 years or older and ID is required.  The event will be held at the Shippensburg Fair grounds from 1PM-4PM.  For tickets, go here.

NEWVILLE/CARLISLE

Meadowbrooke Gourds Fall Create Your Own is September 23 & 24 and September 30 & October 1.  Annual Fall Oops Sale will take place the first weekend on September 23 & 24 from 10AM – 4PM.  Create Your Own Fall Workshop will be held both weekends of the Fall Fest.

The Annual M&T Bank Harvest of the Arts has art, music, theater, kids fun and great food.  On Saturday, September 23, artists will be setup in downtown Carlisle.  Pinnacle Health Kids Alley provides children’s fun.  Live Music.  The festival runs from 10AM to 5PM.

John Graham Library’s annual Fall Festival is from 9AM to 2:30PM on Saturday, Sept. 23.  This family-oriented event features homemade foods, mums, pumpkins, used books, hay ride or a pony cart ride. Activities include a silent auction, free children’s crafts, a dime toss…and more.

The Pillars of Orthodoxy Church in Carlisle will host its 19th annual Greek Food Fest Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23 & 24. Food: Greek cuisine, Gyro sandwiches, Souvlaki, pastries, Greek Coffee, Baklava ice cream.

CHAMBERSBURG/MERCERSBURG

North Square Farmers Market at 50 N. Main Street, Chambersburg is Saturday from 8AM to Noon

AE Bounce House Rental will be set up at the Chambersburg Mall on September 23rd and 24th for a Bounce House Extravaganza.  Saturday Noon – 6PM; Sunday Noon – 5PM.  One Price $5.

Vintage Market at the Old Red Barn’s Fall Festival is September 23.  From 9AM – 3PM, outdoor vendors, food, music, pony rides and face painting.  Live Music:  10AM-Noon Preston Greene and Noah Steinfeldt from The Admiral Mouse and from 1PM-3PM Evan Crider and Katie Bartley.  Parking will be at the Christian Life Church (shuttle provided).

Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest is a free event held every fall on a Franklin County farm to showcase agriculture. This year, tour Burk-Lea Farms (3099 Grand Point Road) on Saturday, September 23.  There will be children’s activities, farm wagon tours, free milk, free ice cream, & more from 10AM – 3PM.

Saunderosafest is Sept. 23 from 10AM – 6PM.  Enjoy a day full of entertainment, crafts, and food vendors at Saunderosa Park in Mercersburg.  LumberJack Enterprises & Freestyle Connection BMX Bike Show, Whitetail Climbing Wall, & more.  Admission $3 per person, 6 and under free.

St. Mary Orthodox Church is having their annual food festival and yard sale on Saturday, September 23.  Greek Pastries and Bake Sale 8AM – 4PM.  Food Festival 10AM -4PM with Greek, Middle Eastern, and European Cuisine.  Yard Sale 8AM – 2PM (Indoors and Outdoors).  Open House 9AM – 3PM.  Take a tour of the church.

BIGLERVILLE/GETTYSBURG

Pippinfest is a two day festival featuring fun for the entire family.  Saturday, September 23: Community Yard Sales.  Craft and food vendors on Main Street.  Inflatable rides by Phantom Shadow, Games, Pony rides.  Quilt Show & Demonstration.  Self-Guided Walking Tour.  Sunday, September 24 (main event): Crafts, Entertainment, Music & Food throughout the Village.  Inflatable rides by Phantom Shadow Entertainment, Games, Pony rides, Obstacle course.  Cruise-In Car Show and Swap Meet.  Quilt Show & Demonstration.  Self-Guided Walking Tour.  Display of Pippinfest Pottery.  Stilt Walker & Clowns.

Hollabaugh Bros., Inc. celebrates Johnny Appleseed’s 243rd Birthday on September 23 and 24.  Stop by Hollabaugh’s 10AM – 1PM on Saturday, and Noon-3PM on Sunday for samples, activities and more!  Story time throughout the day, sampling of various apple varieties, activities for kids of all ages and more.  Registration is NOT required, and this is a free event.

Oyler’s Organic Farms & Market is inviting the public to their Open Farm Day on Saturday, September 23.  From 10AM – 3PM, experience a day on the farm.  Enjoy a walking trail around the farm, free hay rides, free farm activities for the kids, self-guided tours through the packing house, cider room, and commercial kitchen facility, and live music.

On September 23 from 7AM – 4PM, browse the Gettysburg Outdoor Antique Show.  Featuring items from more than 120 antiques dealers and collectors. Rain or shine.  Carlisle, Chambersburg, Baltimore, and York streets and Lincoln Square, Lincoln Square, Gettysburg.

Ongoing Fall Events

CHAMBERSBURG:  Country Creek Produce Farm is home to The Oregon Trail corn maze and more family friendly Fall fun.  The farm’s attractions include the corn maze, jump pad, peddle track, quad mountain slides, u-pick pumpkins, hayrides, animals, pumpkin cannon, and more.

MERCERSBURG:  Stoner’s Dairy Farm and Corn Maze offers weekend Fall activities.  Normal weekend offerings include sea themed corn maze, hayride, petting zoo, pedal carts, corn cannon, scarecrow factory, food and more.  Friday night (Sept. 22) is a Flashlight Night – $6 per person –  from 7PM – 10PM.

NEWVILLE: Cross the Creek Farm offers Pick-Your-Own-Pumpkins priced by the size, not by pound.  Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri: 3PM – 7PM Saturday: 9AM – 6PM

CARLISLE:  Warehime’s Pumpkin Patch opens Friday, September 22 from 4PM to dusk.  They have a large selection of pumpkins to purchase and also multi-colored sunflowers to pick.  Saturday and Sunday Noon until dusk and Monday thru Friday 4PM until dusk.

MECHANICSBURG:  Fall Harvest Days at Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses continue Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9AM – 6PM & Sunday, Sept. 24 11AM – 4PM.  Pick your own pumpkins, horse drawn hayrides, play area and more at 906 W. Grantham Road.

DILLSBURG:  At Paulus Orchards you can celebrate fall harvest season on a farm.  On Saturdays 9AM-6:30PM & Sundays 11AM-5PM, enjoy the 5 acre Corn Maze, Play Land, Wagon Ride around the orchard, pick-your-own apples, and enjoy the Pumpkin Patch.  All day Weekend Farm Admission $9 (ages 3 and up). Seniors $5 (age 65+). Children 2 and under are free.

MANHEIM:  The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is held on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate.  With over 90 stage shows daily, 22 Royal Kitchens and scores of artisan merchants with handcrafted wares, the Renaissance Faire invites guests to immerse themselves in the 35-acre village and experience the fantasy.  Each weekend will showcase a unique theme.  This weekend, Sept. 23 & 24:  Time Travelers
