Fall Furnace Fest at Pine Grove Furnace State Park

Pine Grove Furnace State Park’s annual two day festival is this weekend!  The 2017 Fall Furnace Festival is Saturday October 21, 11AM – 7PM and Sunday, October 22 11AM – 4PM.  There is no charge to enter the Park or the Festival and most activities are free!

The event features food and craft vendors, live musical entertainment, historical demonstrations, hayrides, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making ($5), and kid’s crafts.

The Legend of the Hairy Hand is a Fall Furnace Fest tradition. Saturday evening, October 21 at 7PM at Fuller Lake beach, the legend will be told and the raft of glowing pumpkins will be set afloat on the lake to keep the hairy hand away. Participants can come early to carve a pumpkin and dip a candle to add to the raft.

Pine Grove Furnace State Park is located at 1100 Pine Grove Road, Gardners. The rain or shine event is held in the Furnace Stack and Fuller Lake Day Use Areas.
