Newburg’s Rural Life Festival | July 14

Spend a day in the past at the Rural Life Festival in Newburg.  The annual event takes place Saturday, July 14, on the grounds of Newburg United Methodist Church, sponsor of the festival, at 203 N. High St., Newburg.

Admission and parking are FREE for the event, which is held 9AM – 3PM rain or shine.

Children will enjoy activities such as the pedal-tractor pull, horse and wagon rides, a barrel train and a petting zoo.

In addition come out and enjoy Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Displays, Small Engines, Grain Thrashing, Working Steam Engine, Horse Drawn Binder, Scrapple Making, Making Fresh Apple Cider, Bread Baking, Black Kettle Bean Soup, Potato Raising, Butter Making, Soap Making, Sheep Shearing, Spinning & Weaving, Quilting, Wood Working, Broom Making, Blacksmith, Log Hewing, Kettle Cooked Sassafras Tea, Music, and more!

Come hungry as homemade food is available to purchase – Chicken Bar-B-Q, Soups, Ice Cream, Hand cut French Fries, Sandwiches, Pretzels, and more.

Guilford Station Bluegrass Gospel Band will perform at 7PM Saturday, and the church will host a 10:30AM outdoor worship service Sunday, July 15, followed by lunch.
