Holiday Events in Shippensburg, PA – 2019 Dates

Shippensburg Christmas Parade
The 28th Annual Shippensburg Christmas Parade will take place Friday, November 22, 2019 at 7PM. Sponsored by the Downtown Organizations Investing Together (D.O.I.T), the parade will feature marching bands, school groups, church youth groups, Boy and Girl Scouts, businesses and other organizations, and Santa Claus. The theme is “A Candy Cane Christmas.”
The parade procession will begin on N Fayette Street to King Street and continue north for several blocks to Prince Street.
Santa will be in the Orrstown Bank lobby following the Tree Lighting Ceremony after the parade.
Shippensburg Christmas Market
A Christmas Market will take place November 22 at Shippensburg First Church of God Annex at the corner of Prince & King Street. In addition to the viewing live reindeer, the Christmas Market will feature local vendors, a live Nativity, Jesus Birthday Celebration, food trucks, door prizes, children’s activities, and more!
Santa House and Reindeer Lodge
New this year, D.O.I.T will have a Santa House open Thursday through Saturday throughout the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be at the First Church of God Annex on the corner of North Prince Street and East King Street. After the Santa House, follow Rudolph to the Reindeer Lodge set up at Shippensburg First Church of God – Annex for fun, snacks, and games.
Creators and Makers Market
A Creators and Makers Market will be held Sunday, November 17 from 1PM – 5PM at The Thought Lot in Shippensburg. The event at 37 E. Garfield Street will include 20+ handcrafted vendors and food.
Fall Concert
The Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra concert on Sunday, November 24, 3PM at the Luhrs Center will feature compositions created around Christmas themes, including a beautiful arrangement of the classic Stille Nacht. A high point of the program will be a performance of selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet that will feature The Chambersburg Ballet. This is a FREE event with no ticket needed.
Christmas for Causes
Christmas for Causes is an annual holiday craft and gift show held in the Fellowship Hall of Messiah UMC Church, 30 S. Penn St., Shippensburg. The event on November 25, 6PM – 9PM features local crafters and is designed to raise money for local charities/causes. Food will be available for purchase too!
Pet Photos with Santa
Reins of Rhythm is proud to be partnering with Capture All Moments Photography and hosting Pet Photos with Santa from 10AM – 2PM on December 7 and December 8. Bring your furry friend to Tractor Supply in Shippensburg for a Pet Photo with Santa, for only $5. In addition, bring your children to say hi to Santa’s Elves, Joey & Charlie, and help them fill their stocking for Santa to deliver goodies to all their horse friends back at the farm.
Breakfast with Santa
The Fellowship Ministry of Memorial Lutheran Church will be hosting a free Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
The annual Santa Breakfast will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 34 E. Orange St. Shippensburg from 8AM – 11AM. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, coffee, juice, and milk. This is a FREE community event with breakfast, crafts & time with Santa.

Holiday Band Concert
There will be a Holiday Concert from the Shippensburg Band at the Southampton Township Cumberland Cty (STCC) Multi-Purpose Center (56 Cleversburg Road in Shippensburg) on Sunday evening, December 8 at 6PM. Admission is FREE! The Shippensburg Band will also be hosting a canned food drive for the local food bank.
Brunch with Santa
Christ United Methodist Church & Cumberland Valley Grange invite you to “Brunch with Santa” on Saturday, December 14. From 11AM – 1PM, visit with Santa. 11AM – 2PM enjoy brunch (sandwiches, soups & sweet treats), gingerbread house-making & crafts!
Reservations (717-254-9550) are appreciated but walk-ins are welcome!
The Polar Express
The Shippensburg Community Park and Recreation has planned a free showing of The Polar Express on Friday, December 13 at 7PM at the Mt. Rock Church’s gymnasium. Doors open at 6PM. The evening is sponsored by the Volvo Construction Company, Coldwell Banker – Kim Capozzi, Fernando Torija & Sharon Furry, American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg Moose Lodge, and Picture Plus & O’Roke Photography. The dollar snack menu will include cookies, popcorn, hot chocolate, and milk.
Holiday Marketplace
Holiday Marketplace is Saturday, December 14 from 9AM – 1PM. Shop approximately 30 direct sales and crafters at the Southampton Township Cumberland County (STCC) Multi-Purpose Center located at 56 Cleversburg Road, Shippensburg.
Cleversburg Crafters Country Christmas Pop Up
Shop the Cleversburg Crafters Country Christmas Pop Up on Saturday, December 14 from 8AM to 2PM. The pop up market will be held at the Cleversburg United Methodist Church at 1 Walnut Dale Road, Shippensburg.
Holly Days Craft and Vendor Show
Holly Days Craft and Vendor Show will be held December 14, 9AM – 4PM at Courtyard by Marriott Shippensburg, 503 Newburg Road.
Tiny World
Tiny World will be decorated and lighted for the holidays beginning the day after Thanksgiving. Tiny World, 6720 Rice Road, is a miniature village whose tiny buildings are landscaped, lighted and furnished. Over 20 buildings including a general store, train station, firehouse and houses are decorated for Christmas. Please note the attraction is on a residential property and parking can be tricky as there are few parking spots. Please use caution and your four ways if you park along the road. There is no charge to visit Tiny World. However, donations are accepted to help with maintenance of the display.
