Reading Rainbow event to be held on February 29
The Reading Rainbow event sponsored by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020. The annual event promoting literacy and reading takes place at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 West Orange Street from 8:15AM – 12:30PM. Admission is FREE!
There will be fun activities suitable for children in PreK through 5th grade. Activities include free face painting by Head Start, special guest readers, caricatures by Kent Roberts, Jazz Band, Clifford the Big Red Dog appearance, Scholastic Book Fair, Laser Light Show by Prismatic Magic, and more! The first 200 children will receive a free book. There will be door prizes too!
Event Schedule:
8:15AM: Shippensburg Middle School 6th Grade Jazz Band (Director: Mark Wilson)
9:30AM: Guest Readers
10:15AM: 40 minute Laser Light Show “Laser Safari” by Prismatic Magic
11:30AM: Guest Readers
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
