2021 Fireworks in Shippensburg, Carlisle, Chambersburg, Waynesboro & MORE!

Fireworks will light up the sky all around South Central PA to celebrate Independence Day.  Here is our 4th of July guide to fireworks displays and community events.


Saturday, July 3, 2021

CARLISLE:  The Borough of Carlisle’s traditional live fireworks show, Stars Burst Over Carlisle, will make its return on July 3, 2021.  Stars Burst Over Carlisle will take place Saturday, July 3 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Gates will open at 7 PM and the event is free of charge. A DJ will provide entertainment and there will be concession stands offering food and drinks. Launched from the highest spot at the Carlisle Fairgrounds at approximately 9:30 PM, the fireworks can be seen from nearby streets, parks, and backyards.


Saturday, July 3, 2021

WAYNESBOROThe Waynesboro Summer Jubilee will be hosting the Firecracker 5K Race and Fireworks on July 3, 2021. The Firecracker 5K Race start/finish is located at Waynesboro Sr High School parking lot located on 2nd Street. The parade will be held on July 3 at 9:30 AM and sponsored by “The Brothers of the Brush Inc.” Fireworks will be at dusk.


Sunday, July 4, 2021

SHIPPENSBURG:  Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation Authority (SCPRA) will be hosting Shippensburg’s 4th of July Celebration at Memorial Park, Park Place.  Celebrate with family and friends and enjoy live music, a candy scramble, and fireworks on Sunday, July 4, 2021.  Veterans Stadium gates will open at 5 PM for spectators to set up chairs or blankets to watch the firework show.

  • Wheelhouse Food truck, Castlerigg Winery, SCPRA Concession Stand, Small Games of Chance
  • The Shippensburg Swing Band will perform at 8 PM.
  • The annual Candy Scramble for ages 12 and under will take place at 9 PM.
  • Fireworks will start at approximately 9:30 PM.


Sunday, July 4, 2021

CHAMBERSBURG:  In 2021, Chambersburg Recreation Department will organize and host Chambersburg’s 4th of July celebration. Previously, the Cumberland Valley 21 Day Retreat organization sponsored the July 4th activities and fireworks in Memorial Park.  On July 4, 2021, the Chambersburg Recreation Department will host an Independence Day Festival at the Park. The celebration will begin at 4 PM and include food, refreshments, and fun, including bands, food trucks, and beer tents. Fireworks will be held beginning at 9:30 PM.  The Chambersburg Aquatic Center will open at 1 PM and offer games throughout the day, between 2 – 5 PM.


Sunday, July 4, 2021

GETTYSBURG:  Join the Gettysburg Area Community for a celebration of America’s Independence. A Gettysburg Forth will be hosted by Destination Gettysburg, Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority, and the Rotary Club of Gettysburg at the Gettysburg Recreation Park on Sunday, July 4. Food Trucks open at 6 PM, local band Schizophonic will be rocking live music until the fireworks show at 9:20 PM. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. Viewing of the fireworks is free. Onsite parking will be available for $6 per car or $5 if paying with cash. Parking proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club of Gettysburg.


Sunday, July 4, 2021

HARRISBURG:  On Sunday, July 4, 2021, the City of Harrisburg will host the July 4th Food Trucks & Fireworks at Riverfront Park. The event will feature 30+ food trucks, live music, a wine garden, kids’ activities, and “the largest fireworks display in Central PA.” The fireworks display will start at 9:15 PM.  Enjoy watching the display illuminate the Susquehanna River waterfront. The show can be viewed from miles of space along Riverfront Park, City Island, and other locations in the City of Harrisburg.  Free street parking will be available in the city for the holiday. Parking on City Island is $5.

The 2021 Newville Lions Club Community Fair will be held on 4 evenings – July 7, July 8, July 9, and July 10.  The annual fireworks display will be at 10 PM on Friday, July 9.  The Newville Lions Fairgrounds is located on Route 533 at 433 Shippensburg Road.

Saturday, July 10, 2021

The annual Fannettsburg Fest is Saturday, July 10, 2021.  Fireworks will be at 9:15 PM.  Fannettsburg Fest is an annual festival sponsored by Metal Township Fire and Ambulance #21.
