Newburg’s Rural Life Festival | July 10

The Rural Life Festival will be back in 2021!

Held each year in July, the Rural Life Festival provides a window into Pennsylvania’s past.  The event is presented by Newburg United Methodist Church and will be held Saturday, July 10, at 203 N. High St., Newburg.  The day is a fun and educational experience for the whole family.  Admission and parking are free.

The festival kicks off rain or shine at 9 AM and continues through 3 PM.  Visitors will see various demonstrations, displays, and old-time activities including Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Displays, Small Engines, Butchering Displays, Stationary Crosscut Saw, Working Steam Engine, Grain Flailing, Horse Drawn Binder, Corn Shelling, Hay unloading in a barn with a hayfork, Potato Raising and Gathering, Sheep Shearing, Spinning & Weaving, Quilting, Soap Making, Chair Caning, Wood Working, Broom Making, Blacksmith, and Log Hewing.  There will be live music too!

In addition, discover how food was prepared in the past with demonstrations of Scrapple Making, Fresh Apple Cider Making, Bread Baking, and Butter Making.  Children will enjoy a barrel train ride, a petting zoo, and more!

Come hungry as delicious homemade food will be sold!  Enjoy homemade food such as Amish Donuts, Lemonade, Chicken Bar-B-Q, Sandwiches, Soups, Hand-cut French Fries, and Amish Pretzels.
