Newburg’s Rural Life Festival | July 9

Held each year in July, the Rural Life Festival provides a window into Pennsylvania’s past.  The event is presented by Newburg United Methodist Church and will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 203 N. High St., Newburg.  The day is a fun and educational experience for the whole family.  Admission and parking are free.

The festival kicks off rain or shine at 9 AM and continues through 3 PM.  Visitors will see various demonstrations, displays, and old-time activities, including Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Displays, Working Steam Engine, Small Engines, Grain Thrashing, Horse Drawn Binder, Butcher Equipment Display, Potato Raising, Soap Making, Sheep Shearing, Spinning, and Weaving, Quilting, Wood Working, Broom Making, Blacksmithing, and Log Hewing.

In addition, discover how food was prepared in the past with demonstrations of Scrapple Making, Fresh Apple Cider Making, Black Kettle Bean Soup, Kettle Corn, and Bread Baking.  Children will enjoy a barrel train ride, a petting zoo, a kids’ maze, and more children’s activities!

Come hungry as delicious homemade food will be sold!  Enjoy homemade foods such as Donuts, Chicken Bar-B-Q, Sandwiches, Soups, Hand-cut French Fries, Ice Cream, and Pretzels.
