Katie’s Place Thrift Shop is having its next monthly sale this week and everything is 50% off!  Stop by Sept. 14, 15, or 16 (8AM- Noon) and take advantage of the deals.  The store is located at the old Martin’s Bakery Building at the corner of S. Penn and E. Garfield Streets in Shippensburg.

The Local Gathering is having a Music Festival Fundraiser with Wenger’s BBQ Dinners ($10), Rita’s Italian Ice, Vendors and Craft Show on Saturday, September 16 beginning at Noon.  1PM-Evan Crider; 2PM-Scott Bauer; 3PM John Leberknight; 4PM-Scott Spielman; 5PM-Fred Yoder; 6PM-Sunset-Guilford Station Bluegrass Gospel.  Bring your lawn chairs.

CHAMBERSBURG/FAYETTEVILLE/MERCERSBURG

Pianist Efi Hackmey will perform live on stage in Thomson Hall, Wilson College on Friday, September 15. The concert will begin at 7:30PM and there will be a complimentary reception following the performance. This event is free to all and no tickets are necessary.

Saturday, Sept. 16, from 11AM – 3PM is the Autism Awareness Fair at Chambersburg Area Middle School South.  Fun games and sensory activities, free refreshments, and entertainment by AE Bounce House Rentals.  The event will be held rain or shine.

Country Creek Produce Farm will open their Oregon Trail themed Corn Maze & U-pick Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, Sept. 16.  Visit their website for prices & hours.

Stoner’s Dairy Farm and Corn Maze in Mercersburg offers weekend Fall activities.  Normal weekend offerings include sea themed corn maze, hayride, petting zoo, pedal carts, corn cannon, scarecrow factory, food and more.  Friday night (Sept. 15) is a Flashlight Night – $6 per person –  from 7PM – 10PM.

The Salvation Army of Chambersburg (159 Lincoln Way W) is having a Community Fun Night on Saturday, Sept. 16.  Kids Carnival starting at 4PM.  “The Up In The Air Show” with Forest the Juggler at 7PM.  Food, games, free entertainment.

On September 15-17, the Annual Steam & Gas Show will be held at Two Top Ruritan Grounds, Mercersburg. A tractor pull, a lawn and garden tractor and farm tractor parade, flea market & crafts, musical entertainment, as well as homemade soups, sandwiches, and fresh-cut fries.

Heroes Remembered – Honoring the Lost will honor World War II veterans on Sept. 16 at Norlo Park, Fayetteville.  A variety of activities will be held from 11AM – 4PM including live music, sky divers, and food.  Admission is free.

North Square Farmers Market at 50 N. Main Street, Chambersburg is Saturday from 8AM to Noon

A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville.  The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1PM to 4PM throughout Fall.  It is open to riders of all ages.

The 9th Annual Harvest Festival on Sunday, Sept. 17 is a live music fest with a Latin vibe.  For the first time, it is coming to downtown Chambersburg in the parking lot of the Capitol Theatre from 2PM – 7PM.  Six acts feature a variety of Latin rhythms–banda, mariachi, salsa, bachata, cumbia and more!  Food available for sale outside and at the Concession inside the Capitol Theatre.  This is a free event.

Sunday, September 17 is a Family Fun Day benefiting the United Way of Franklin County at Wolf Furniture Company, Gateway Avenue.  Obstacle courses, Bounce Houses, Kids Activities, Vendors, Face Painting, Music, Food, and more.  Wristbands cost $2 per child.  Hours:  Noon – 5PM. All proceeds go to The United Way of Franklin County.

Lincoln Lanes is hosting Sunday Night Family Lazer Bowl on September 17.  Come out on Sunday evenings from 6PM – 8PM and bowl for $8 per person (includes shoes).  Lincoln Lanes is located at 2071 Lincoln Way East.

CARLISLE/DILLSBURG/MECHANICSBURG/MT HOLLY SPRINGS

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre is open Friday & Saturday this weekend (final weekend of the season).  Showing Sept. 15 & 16 will be It and Baby Driver.  Gates open at 7PM. First feature begins at approximately 8PM.

Cumberland Goodwill EMS is hosting a Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, September 16.  From 10AM – 2PM, the community is invited to join Cumberland Goodwill EMS at the Carlisle Fairgrounds for this FREE family-fun event.  Trucks and vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and purposes will be open for hands-on exploration.  Operate emergency lights, ride up a ladder truck, climb into large construction equipment, and get a close-up view of all the amazing vehicles that work around our community every day.  Crafts, games, and other displays will be on site.  Food will be available for purchase.

Holly Festival Day is September 16 and features 60+ food, craft, and flea market vendors.  Car show, entertainment, and community information.  Free children’s activities. Hours 8AM – 2PM rain or shine.

Fall Harvest Days kick off this weekend at Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses! Pick your own pumpkins, horse drawn hayrides, play area and more at 906 W. Grantham Road, Mechanicsburg.  Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9AM – 6PM & Sunday, Sept. 17 11AM – 4PM.

At Paulus Orchards you can celebrate fall harvest season on a farm.  On Saturdays 9AM-6:30PM & Sundays 11AM-5PM, enjoy the 5 acre Corn Maze, Play Land, Wagon Ride around the orchard, pick-your-own apples, and enjoy the Pumpkin Patch.  All day Weekend Farm Admission $9 (ages 3 and up). Seniors $5 (age 65+). Children 2 and under are free.

YORK

The York Fair is September 8-17.  Admission:  $8 for adults, $4 for children 6-18 and college students with ID and free for children 5 and under.  Parking inside the fairgrounds is $7.  Gates Open:  11AM Friday-Sunday; Noon Monday-Thursday.  America’s oldest fair, with offerings including entertainment and concerts.  For Promo Days visit here.

HARRISBURG/HALIFAX

On Saturday, September 16 from 11AM – 3PM is Founder’s Day at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park.  Complimentary pork sandwiches while supplies last, along with a musical performance, face painting, pony rides, prize giveaways.

Sunday, September 17 from 10AM – 5PM is Fort Hunter Day.   The free, family festival celebrates old-time ways of life and includes children’s crafts and games; historical demonstrations/exhibits, bake sale, food, and entertainment.

TIPTON

DelGrosso’s is having a $15 Car Load Weekend promotion!  For only $15, everyone (up to 10 people) in your vehicle receives an All-Day Fun Pass wristband for the day.  $15 Car Load Sale is for Saturday and Sunday – September 16 and 17 only.

MANHEIM

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is held on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate.  With over 90 stage shows daily, 22 Royal Kitchens and scores of artisan merchants with handcrafted wares, the Renaissance Faire invites guests to immerse themselves in the 35-acre village and experience the fantasy.  Each weekend will showcase a unique theme.  This weekend: Pyrate Invastion.
