Shippensburg

Customer Appreciation Days at Maplewood Produce & Greenhouse, 8564 Olde Scotland Rd. will be held Friday, Sept. 25th 8–7 & Saturday, Sept. 26th 8–4.  Free Refreshments! Pony rides will be $1 per person.  Pick your own pumpkins for $.39/lb. or all you can carry from the field for $7. 10% off Fall Decor:  Straw bales, Pumpkins, Gourds, Indian corn, Mums, and Fall Planters.

Shippensburg Lowe’s will have their Annual Safety Day & Smiths Chicken BBQ Sale on September 26th. This is a free event to get safety information, meet area first responders, & more from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm.  A Build & Grow kids workshop will also be held from 10am-11am. Kids can build a Fire Truck (register here).

Beyond Shippensburg

Lurgan Greenhouse will be holding their Annual Fall Event & Customer Appreciation Days on Thursday, September 24th 8-6, Friday, September 25th 8-6, and Saturday, September 26th 8-5.  Lurgan Greenhouse is located at 8126 Oakdale Rd, Orrstown. There will be door prizes, coffee & donuts, and bargain buy doorbusters. Large Mums will be $5.99.

The Drying Shed, 1587 Newcomer Rd, Chambersburg is a dried flower farm and greenhouse. Their Fall Open House will be held on September 24, 25, & 26 (Thursday & Friday 10 am – 7 pm, and Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm).

On September 26th & 27th is the Fairfield Pippinfest! Fun for the entire family at this old-time country street festival featuring arts and crafts, apple products, live music, car show, community yard sales, children’s inflatable rides, great food and more. The 34th Annual M&T Bank Harvest of the Arts will be held September 26th in historic downtown Carlisle 10 am – 5 pm.  Experience over 100 artists, music, theater, kid’s fun and food.  See the Art of the Car Meeting of the Marques. The Farmers on the Square will be set up on the Square with the produce and foods.

Gettysburg Outdoor Antique Show will be held September 26th with more than 120 dealers along Lincoln Square and the streets of downtown Gettysburg PA.  The event will feature high-quality antiques and collectibles. 7am-4pm. Rain or shine.

Meadowbrooke Gourds, 125 Potato Road, Carlisle will be holding their Fall Fest on two weekends.  This weekend, September 26th & September 27th from 10 am – 4 pm is the Oops Sale. Create your own unique gourd (10 am – 3 pm) and pick your own Sunflower bouquet too.

Annual Senior Expo on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Chambersburg Mall, 3055 Black Gap Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The fair is free to attend and is open to all senior citizens and their family members or caregivers. More than 80 vendors representing various state agencies, local governments, businesses and non-profit organizations will be on hand to provide information and answer questions important to seniors. Health screenings, free breakfast and door prizes will be available.

250th Anniversary of Black Boys Rebellion will be held in Fort Loudoun on September 25, 26, and 27. Remembering the skirmish between settlers, led by James Smith, and British troops will be commemorated with a full schedule of re-enactments, presentations and tours.  All events are free and open to the public. More information about the event is available at Rebellion 1765. Fort Loudoun is located on N. Brooklyn Road, Fort Loudon, PA- off Route 30, 13 miles west of Chambersburg.

Fall Fest at Hershey Gardens will take place on Saturday, September 26th. Kids of all ages can also stuff a scarecrow, play dress up with items from the scarecrow “closet” and pose with a scarecrow display for photos. Easy fall cleanup tips for the yard will also be offered. Admission: Included in gardens admission: $10.50 adults; $9.50 ages 62 and older; $7.50 ages 3-12

The Village At Luther Ridge, Route 997 will have their 26th annual Celebration Day flea market, free cruise-in car show, entertainment, children’s activities, homemade food, and lunch stand. The event is September 26th from 8:00 AM2:00 PM.

Stoner’s Dairy Farm, 7678 Oellig Rd, Mercersburg, offers plenty of weekend Fall farm activities.  Corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo & more.  Hours are Fridays 7 – 10 pm (Flashlight Maze), Saturday, noon – 10 pm & Sunday noon – 5 pm. Please visit their website for details.

Paulus Orchards, 522 East Mount Airy Road, Dillsburg has opened for its Fall Season.  5 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, pick your own apples, and enjoy some fun in PlayLand with tube slides, corn box, tether ball, giant checker game, little log house, spider web, peddle carts, rubber duck races & more.  All day Weekend Farm Admission $7 (ages 3 and up). Seniors $5 (age 65+). Children 2 and under are free.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire: Oktoberfest will continue Sept. 26 & 27 at Mount Hope Estate. The Faire features costumed characters, themed entertainment, music, dancing, 90 shows daily, royal kitchens, artisan merchants, and handcrafted wares. Mount Hope Estate is located in Northern Lancaster County at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. The event is rain or shine.  Gates open 11 am and close at 8 pm.

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville. Last Weekend Friday, Saturday & Sunday September 25, 26, & 27  First Feature The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (PG-13); 2nd Feature:  The Visit (PG-13)  Gates Open at 7 p.m.  First feature begins at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Michael’s Kids Club is every Saturday from 10 am – Noon for ages 3 and up. For $2 your child can make a seasonal craft for 30 minutes while you shop!  On Saturday, Sept. 26th the children will be making a Candy Corn Banner. Sign up at Classes & Events | Michaels Stores.
