Shippensburg

24th Annual Shippensburg Holiday Parade “A Christmas to Remember” will take place Friday, November 20th at 7 pm.   Sponsored by the Downtown Organizations Investing Together (D.O.I.T), the parade will feature marching bands, school groups, Boy and Girl Scouts, businesses and other organizations, and Santa Claus.  Line up starts at 5:30 pm in the area of the Shippensburg Borough Office on Fayette Street and advance toward King Street. Parade will end at Prince Street with the annual tree lighting ceremony.  After the parade, visits with Santa, free carriage rides, and refreshments at Orrstown Bank, 77 E. King St.

Saturday, Nov. 21st from 11am – 1 pm Brunch with Santa11 am – 2pm Games, Gingerbread house making at Christ UM Church, 47 E. King Street, Shippensburg.

The Little Princess Playhouse at Shippensburg University will present “Cinderella” and “Snow White” on November 21 and December 5, in Stewart Hall, Old Main Drive, Shippensburg. Shows will be held at 10 and 11:30 a.m. both days.  Tickets are $4, and will be available at the door.  Seating is limited.  Parking is free and available at nearby Memorial Auditorium.  The playhouse is sponsored by Shippensburg University’s Department of Music and Theatre Arts and features university students.

Cellist Elizabeth Anderson will be a guest performer in a concert by the Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center on campus.  The concert is free and open to the public, and will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 22.

The Friends of the Shippensburg Public Library are having a Plaid Tiding’s Tea on Sunday, November 22nd from 3 pm – 5 pm at the Library! Enjoy tea, soup, savories, and sweets. Tickets are no longer available.

Newburg

On Saturday, November 21st, there will be an Authentic Pennsylvania Dutch wedding meal to benefit the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Co.; 3-7 p.m. , Newburg United Methodist Church, 203 N. High St., Newburg; $15 adults, $6 ages 5-12, under 5 free; takeouts $15.

Carlisle

Eastern National Antique Show, Carlisle Expo Center (off I-81, Exit 52B at 100 K Street) hosts between 80 and 100 antiques dealers from across the country.  Textiles & quilts, toys, fishing and sporting collectibles, postcards, maps, pottery, folk art, books, prints, jewelry, & more will be discovered at this show.  $8.00 ($7.00 w/ ad) 2 day pass $12.00  Children 12 and under are Free. Greencastle

Friday, November 20th 6:30 – 7:30pm is Greencastle’s Tree Lighting Ceremony.  Tree will be lit in red, white and blue lights to honor men and women of our armed forces.  Bells will be given out for ringing when the tree is lit.  Downtown merchants will be open late.  FREE hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies and balloons.

The annual Greencastle Christmas Parade will be held November 21 from 9:20 am – 11 am.  The parade route begins on Ridge Avenue and goes down Baltimore Street and then on South Carlisle Street, followed by coffee, cookies, hot chocolate and holiday treat bags.  Also, the unveiling of Santa’s Mailbox.

Chambersburg

Come and enjoy the start of the holiday season with the 46th Annual Chambersburg Christmas parade on Saturday, November 21st at 5:30 pm.  Santa will arrive in Memorial Square on his train and light the Christmas tree.  The parade begins in front of Coyle Free Library at King and Main Streets, and proceeds south on Main Street, east on Washington Street, north on Second Street completing the 1 mile route at Second and Grant Streets.

Country Time Treasures, 3640 Black Gap Rd, Chambersburg, offers country decor for inside and outside of the home. Friday Nov 20th – Sun Nov 22 will be their Open House!  Regular Hours are: Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm, Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 1pm – 5pm

Santa will arrive at the Chambersburg Mall on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Noon.  He will be available for photos at Center Court throughout the holiday season. Craft Shows and Holiday Bazaars

Friday, November 20

On Friday November 20th, Menno Haven is having a Holiday Bazaar featuring Handmade Crafts & Baked Goods by Residents, Staff, & Community Vendors.  The Bazaar will be held from 9 am – 2 pm at their Penn Hall Campus 1425 Philadelphia Avenue (Manor Building ~ Laurel Room).

Saturday, November 21

Hotel Carlisle Holiday Craft and Vendor Show will be held November 21st 8 am – 4 pm at Hotel Carlisle & Embers Convention Center, 1700 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle.  Unique gifts all in one place.

White Christmas Market will be on November 21st at Blue Heron Events Center, 407 S. Washington Street, Greencastle.  Local Vendors from 9 am – 4 pm.

Shop for the Holidays will be held November 21st from 10 am – 3pm at the Chambersburg Recreation Center, 235 South Third Street, Chambersburg. It will showcase local and regional high-quality, hand-made items as well as independent home-based business consultants. There will also be pictures with Santa, free crafts for kids, and door prizes.

The Big Spring United Lutheran Church will host a Holiday Craft Bazaar from 8 am. to 2 pm. Saturday, Nov. 21, at 101 Crossroad School Road, West Pennsboro Township. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10:30 am, and lunch from 10:30 am to 2 pm. The bazaar will feature stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, quilted gifts, homemade candy, ornaments, children’s books and baked goods. Fresh greens centerpieces will also be on sale.

Monday, November 23

Christmas for Causes Holiday Craft and Gift Show will be held Monday, November 23 from 6-9 p.m. The Craft & Gift Show will be held at Premier Events, 429 E. Orange St., Shippensburg. Over 20 local crafters, individuals and organizations will be holiday gift items and baked goods. A portion of the proceeds will go to local charities such as the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation, Episcopal Home, Reins of Rhythm, Friends of the Shippensburg Library, Shippensburg Produce and Outreach, the Local Gathering and more!

Ongoing Christmas Events & Attractions

Purchase admission to Dutch Winter Wonderland for just $9.99 (plus tax) when you buy online by November 20! The Winter Wonderland begins November 21.  Enjoy rides and attractions, games, festive entertainment, and The Royal Light Show.  Dutch Wonderland is located at 2249 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA.

This weekend, Hersheypark Candylane continues and is double the size with 4 million lights, 9 new rides – including 4 coasters – Cocoa Cruiser, Wildcat, Laff Trakk and sooperdooperLooper. Santa’s Wonderland is at Bass Pro Shops, 3501 Paxton Street, Harrisburg.  There are free crafts, games, and activities.  Kids get a FREE 4×6 photo with Santa.  Please refer to the website for specific times.

The Trains of Christmas at Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum continues this weekend.  Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays 1 – 5 pm. The Trains of Christmas Show features an “O” Scale 3-Rail Christmas layout with steam and diesel trains by Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver, and other operating in snow scene on four levels. Railroad artifacts, photos, trains for kids to run, and a gift shop too! Admission: $5 Adults; $.50 Kids (ages 12 & under).

Whitaker Center’s Holiday Trains & Trees exhibit is open.  Beautifully decorated trees, surrounded by themed toy train sets and hands-on activities.  Holiday Trains and Trees is included with standard Science Center admission. The Holiday Film Series at the Whitaker Center continues with The Polar Express 3D.  The Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts is located at 222 Market Street, Harrisburg.
