What’s Happening | January 15, 16, 17

Shippensburg

A Winter Carnival will be held Saturday, January 16th from 2 pm – 7 pm at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. Help the SASHS Marching Band raise money to help fund their trip to Virginia Beach. Games for all ages, Food, Used book sale, Face painting, Chinese auction & More!

The Local Gathering, 611 Shippensburg Rd (Rt. 696 past the Newburg Rd) will host JJK and Company, 70’s pop and Southern Gospel 7 – 10 pm (doors open at 6 pm).  There will also be a guest performing Elvis songs.  Admission is free.

Tractor Supply holds affordable Pet Vaccine Clinics inside their stores for your dog, cat, puppy or kitten.  Upcoming dates are January 16 and January 30.  Times are 10:00 am – 11:30 am at the Chambersburg store, 1733 Lincoln Way East or 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at the Shippensburg store, 40 Shippensburg Shopping Cntr.  Find other locations by typing your zip HERE.  No appointment needed, just show up during clinic hours.  No office fee.  

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641.  The roller skating rink is open for public skating on Friday evenings from 7-9 PM Admission is only $3 and skate rentals are $1.  Kids 6 and under are FREE and non-skating adults are FREE.

Chambersburg

Greene Township Municipal Park, 996 Elevator Street, Scotland has a 50′ by 97′ outdoor ice skating rink to enjoy over the winter months. Skating is FREE and done at one’s own risk. Participants must bring their own skates.  Use of the rink will be open daily to the public from dawn to dusk.  The outdoor skating rink is weather and temperature dependent, so please visit HERE for daily updates.

Greencastle

Winter Bounce Festival

The Winter Bounce Festival with Phantom Shadow Entertainment will take place at Green Grove Gardens inside the Grand Barn at 1032 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle.  On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, January 15 – 17, 22 – 24, and 29 – 31,  children 12 and younger will be allowed to bounce, slide, jump and play on the inflatables (socks are required).  There will be one or two inflatables for toddlers 3 years-old and younger only.  Children can stay and play as long as they would like on the day you choose to come. Hours for the Winter Bounce Fest:  Friday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Walk-In Pricing:  $10.00 for Children 12 & under ($8 on Fridays); $5.00 for Children 2 & under

Harrisburg

The 100th Pennsylvania Farm Show will continue through Saturday, January 16th. 8 am to 9 pm Jan. 9-15 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 16. The event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg features 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors. Admission to the Farm Show is free, however there is an extra charge for the butterfly house, tractor ride, merry-go-round and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeos Jan. 14-16. Parking is $15 at all Farm Show-operated lots.

Hershey

Zoo America has $5.50 Fridays where all visitors get in for $5.50 every Friday during the winter through March 18, 2016.  Admission is regularly $11 per person for ages 9-54, $9 for ages 3-8 & 55+, and free for ages 2 and under.  ZooAmerica has a free Community Weekend on January 23 & 24, 2016.
