Shippensburg

Join the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center as they welcome Hotel California “A Salute to the Eagles” on Saturday, June 4th at 7:30 PM.  For more than two decades, the Hotel California band has performed replicas of the Eagles’ classic songs. For tickets visit www.luhrscenter.com.

Furry Fun Days will take place June 4 & 5, 2016.  The two day fair for dogs and dog lovers will be held at Shippensburg Township Park, 304 Britton Road, Shippensburg.  No tickets required. $5 car requested donation supports attending shelters and rescues. Vendors, Games, Food, Demos, Agility.  Rain or Shine.

Maplewood Produce & Greenhouse, 8564 Olde Scotland Road, Shippensburg will be having its Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 4 from 8 AM – 4 PM!  Pick your own Strawberries $2.10 lb.  20% off ALL planters and hanging baskets. FREE soft serve Ice Cream with fresh Strawberries.

Beyond Shippensburg

P.A.P. Day in the park will be held June 4th 10 AM – 4 PM at Hopewell Township Park, 218 Shippensburg Road, Newburg. There will be games for the kids, food (chicken dinners, cheeseburgers, french fries etc.) basket raffles, and lots of vendors.

Mt. Parnell Lions club’s 65th Annual OX ROAST is Fri. June 3 & Sat. June 4 at St. Thomas American Legion Grounds.  Food Stand opens at Noon.  Games, Bounce Houses, Entertainment 6 PM each evening.

Quincy Spring Fling (will be set up at the Colestock Parking Lot) on Saturday, June 4th from 7 AM – 2 PM.  The annual fishing derby (prizes donated by Cabela’s) will begin at 7 AM and go until Noon.  Vendors, butterfly garden, thrift shop, food, DJ and live music, silent auction, bake sale, caricature artist with face painting (minimal charge) and more.  Quincy Village is located at 6596 Orphanage Rd, Waynesboro.

The Newville First Church of God is hosting its annual Newville Rural Festival on Saturday, June 4th 9AM – 3PM.  Free Admission and Free Parking. The festival features over 50 craftsmen and exhibitors including antique tractors, classic & antique cars, motorcycles, hit & miss engines, spinning wheels, and more! Tractor Parade at 2:30 PM.  Food. Live musical ministry all day by Next 2 Nothing, Liberty and the Shippensburg Swing Band. Children’s Garden activities, Carnival games, Barrel train ride, Pony Rides, Tillie the Clown and more! This event will be held rain or shine.

The second Saturday of the 2016 Marion Festivals is June 4th.  Free Entertainment with 3 Shows each night (6:15 PM; 7:30 PM; 9 PM).  Food Games, Rides.  Kitchen opens at 4:30 PM.  Free parking.

Friends of Kings Gap is hosting Music on the Mountain concert Sunday, June 5th with folk group, The Vulcans, from 3 PM to 5 PM and bluegrass artists, Mountain Ride, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Food vendors available.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket to the top of the mountain.

The entire family will enjoy an all-Ford event at the Carlisle Fairgrounds this weekend.  Ford, Mercury and Lincoln fans will have a showcase of over 3,000 vehicles to check out on the National Parts Depot showfield. Enjoy great indoor displays of concepts, customs and historically-significant cars and trucks; test drives by Ford Motor Company, a burnout competition, activities for the kids, industry guests, giveaways, NHRA drag racing, autocross for all skill levels and club gatherings.

The Foundry Day Crafts Festival is an annual juried arts and crafts festival held the first Saturday of June in Boiling Springs and features the original works of 100 fine artists and craftsmen.  Event also includes music, entertainment, food and more.  Admission is free. Rain or shine.  Free parking and shuttles from the high school parking lot.

Saturday, June 4th is a flea market at the Newburg Hopewell Fire House, 121 Lovers Lane, Newburg.

An American Girl Doll Bingo will be held Sunday, June 5 at 1:30 PM at Lurgan Township (Roxbury) Lions Club.  Tickets $15 per person. A ticket is required for each person attending.   Doors open at Noon.  Early Bird Bingo for Leah Clark Girl of the year at 1 PM.  20 Regular games, 3 special games.  Drawings for American Girl merchandise.  Concessions.

Ongoing Events

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville, is open Friday – Sunday.  Gates open at 7 p.m. First feature begins at approximately 8:50 PM. First Feature:  X-Men: Apocolypse   Second Feature:  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows  $8 Adults;  $4 Children 3-12; FREE for Children Under 3.

North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, Chambersburg continues Saturday, June 4 from 8 AM to NoonFree parking at the Courthouse.  Over twenty local vendors will offer local produce as well as cheeses, breads, fresh-cut flowers, baked goods, handmade soaps, & MORE. Children ages 3 -12 can sign up for POP (Power of Produce) Club.  Members receive $2 in tokens per market visit to be used on produce or vegetable plants! Membership in POP Club is free. 

On Saturday, June 4th the free miniature train rides continue at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville.  It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall!  Last Train boards at 3:50 pm.  Donations are accepted.
