Shippensburg/Newburg

On March 18, 2017, enjoy the Newburg Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department’s Amish Wedding Meal held at Newburg United Methodist Church, 203 N High Street.  The meal will be served from 2 PM to approximately 7 PM.  Take out is available.  Price:  Adults $12.00; Children ages 5-10 $6.00; Children 4 and under FREE.  The menu is Chicken Filling, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Homemade Noodles, Creamed Celery/Peas, Homemade Donuts and Pies.

Wendy Valentine Art Exhibit Opening Reception and Wine Tasting will be Saturday March 18 at the Thought Lot.  This is a FREE family friendly event from 6PM-8PM.

The 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k Race at the Southampton Township Community Center (58 Cleversburg Rd) will take place on Saturday, March 18, 10:30AM.  Register Online at Timber Hill Timing. Online registration is open and will close on Saturday March 18 at 7:00 AM. Same day registration and packet pickup will begin at 9:00 AM at the Southampton Township Community Center.

Chambersburg

Prom Blessing Closet will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from Noon – 3:30PM at William K. Nitterhouse YMCA Family Program Center located at 756 S. Coldbrook Avenue.  The Prom Blessing Closet’s mission is to see all young women in our area be able to attend Prom by offering gently used formal gowns and accessories without the financial burden.

Mount Olivet UBC is having a Prom Gown Sale on Saturday, March 18th. This sale has over 100 dresses in sizes 2-24.  The sale also features Jamberry Nails, Paparazzi Jewelry and Chinese auction.  Short Dresses: $20; Long Dresses: $25

Chambersburg Community Theatre presents the Woody Allen farce, “Don’t Drink the Water” beginning Friday March 17, 7:30PM at the Capitol Theatre.  A comedy about an American tourist and his wife and daughter, rush into the American embassy behind the Iron Curtain. The police expect them of spying and picture taking.  March 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 7:30PM and March 19 & 26 at 2PM. For tickets, call 717-263-0202 or go to CCTonline.org.

The Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club will be having an Open House on Sunday March 19, 2017.  The public is invited to see over 55 model trains running of all sizes – from the tiny T-scale up to the G-gauge set.  Visit their clubhouse on 440 Nelson Street between Noon – 4 PM.  This is a FREE event with plenty of parking.

Waynesboro

Come get your pet’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny at Waynesboro True Value from 10AM – 2PM on March 18.  $5 donation per sitting with proceeds donated to Knick Knack Pittie Pack Dog Rescue.

Harrisburg

From March 16 – March 19 find everything to beautify, update and maintain your home at the 2017 Pennsylvania Home Show.  The annual event takes place at the Farm Show Complex Thursday – Saturday 10AM – 8PM and Sunday 10AM – 6PM.  Admission is $10, Children 12 and under FREE.  Free parking each day.

Hagerstown

The Home Builders Association of Washington County has their annual building home show featuring the best in the industry.  March 18th – 9AM to 5PM and March 19th – 10AM to 4PM at Hagerstown Community College’s ARCC.  This event is open to all so bring the whole family.  Admission is $2.00, ages 12 and under are FREE!
