Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend in Shippensburg and Beyond!

Shippensburg

Katie’s Place Thrift Shop is open this week Feb. 1 – 3 from 8AM – Noon. Everything is Half Price!

Book Nook at the Shippensburg Public Library has all Multimedia buy one get one free in February.

Whiskers Vintage and Vinyl is hosting their Whiskers Valentine Party on Saturday, February 3 from 6PM – 8PM.  The event includes:  50% off storewide at Whiskers Vintage and Vinyl; complimentary 10-minute makeovers; complimentary Chair Massages; Make and take DoTerra Essential Oil perfumes; Custom-made stamped jewelry; Henna/Jagua by Chimaera Face and Body Art; Castlerigg Wine Shop, and refreshments.

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641. The roller skating rink is open for public skating on Friday evenings from 7-9PM.

Carlisle

Stroll downtown Carlisle on Saturday, February 3 from 1PM to 4PM for the 3rd annual Sweetheart Stroll! This event is geared towards adults, particularly “sweethearts”, who will enjoy a brisk walk around downtown Carlisle to discover the small businesses it has to offer.  Participating businesses will be offering special treats and deals during the stroll.  On the day of the event, a Map of Hearts can be picked up at Georgie Lou’s Retro Candy, 56 W High Street, which will detail participating businesses and their offerings for the day.

Chambersburg

On February 2, a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will be held from 4PM-8PM at Chambersburg Area Middle School South, 1151 E. McKinley Street. $8 at the door.

Bring the kids to the Chambersburg Mall on Saturday and Sunday to bounce and have some fun!  AE Bounce House Rentals will have 7 inflatables set up at the mall.  $10 child.  Hours:  Saturday & Sunday Noon – 5PM.

Kauffman Ruritan is sponsoring a public Slippery Potpie Supper on Saturday, Feb 3 from 4PM-7PM at the Kauffman Community Center, 7289 Ruritan Dr.

Waynesboro

The Waynesboro Area School Band Auxiliary will be hosting the “Beats of the Boro,” an Indoor Percussion and Color Guard Show on February 3 starting at Noon. The event will host about 30 groups from Pennsylvania and Maryland. The percussion competition will be held from Noon – 2PM and the guard competition will begin at 3PM and end at 7PM. The event is being held at the Waynesboro Area High School gymnasium. The doors will open at 10:30AM, and admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens, with children under 5 admitted free.

Greencastle

The Greencastle Toy & Collectible Show  is Sunday, February 4 from 8AM – 1PM.  The show will have 80 tables of Vintage and Modern Toys, Diecast, Action Figures, Star Wars, Transformers, Comics, Movie Posters, Hot Wheels, Games, and more for sale. Free Admission & Door Prizes.

The Winter Bounce Festival with Phantom Shadow Entertainment is a fun family event for kids 12 and under. There will be inflatables, a DJ, games, mini -golf, food, and much more.  Walk-ins welcome or you may want to book your own party area.  Every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in February.  Friday Hours 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday Hours 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday Hours 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Ages 12 and under $10 — Ages 2 and Under $5

Mercersburg

An “Animals from Africa” program will be presented by Critters and Conservation on Sunday, February 4 from 3-4PM.  It is a live and interactive animal program held at the James Buchanan High School auditorium.  Come see and learn about birds, mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates and their habitats, diets, behavior, basic biology, importance in the food web, and so much more. You will have the opportunity to pet an animal at the end of the show.  There is a $4/adult and $2/school age child fee for the animal program.

Gettysburg

Tickets for the 18th annual Gettysburg Times With This Ring Bridal Show are on sale. The event will be held at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike on Friday, February 2 from 6 to 9:30PM. Tickets $7 in advance, $10 at the door.

York

York’s winter auto racing show, Racing Xtravaganza, features race cars, exhibits, booths, and more. The show is at the York Expo Center on Saturday and Sunday, February 3 & 4. Show times are 10AM until 9PM on Saturday and 10AM until 4PM on Sunday.

Harrisburg

The Great American Outdoor Show is a nine-day event (Feb 3 – 11) celebrating hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions. The show features over 1,000 exhibitors ranging from shooting manufacturers to outfitters to fishing boats and RVs, archery and art. The schedule includes country concerts, fundraising dinners, speaking events, archery competitions, and more. Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, Harrisburg.  Monday-Friday 10AM to 7PM; Saturdays 9AM to 7PM; Sundays 10AM to 5PM.

Hershey

This weekend at Hershey Gardens is the annual Orchid Show and Sale in the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory. More than 1,000 orchids representing dozens of orchid varieties will be on display, including rare species and unique hybrids. The event takes place Friday through Sunday, Feb. 2 – 4.  View the Facebook Event HERE.

Zoo America has $6 Fridays where all visitors get in for $6 every Friday during the winter through March 2018.
