Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend in Shippensburg and Beyond!

Shippensburg

America will be at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center on February 17 at 8PM.  Founding band members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell will perform the band’s catalog of ’70s hits, including Ventura Highway, Sister Golden Hair, and Lonely People.  Reserved tickets are $59, $55, $49 & $44 and are now on sale.

Book Nook at the Shippensburg Public Library has all Multimedia buy one get one free in February.

The 14th annual Buy Sell & Swap Day will be held at the Shippensburg Fish & Game Club on Saturday Feb. 17th. This event will be held on club grounds at 4498 McClays Mill Road. Anything related to the outdoors will be sold! Doors open at 8 AM.

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641. The roller skating rink is open for public skating on Friday evenings from 7-9PM.

Chambersburg

Children 3 years of age through 8th grade are invited to join the Chambersburg Recreation Department at the Rec Center on Saturday February 17, from 10AM to 2PM to jump & bounce in bounce houses.  Unlimited jumps $5/person or 1 turn(ticket) is $.50.  Sno cones, hot dogs, drinks, and other snacks will be available at concessions.

Join the Bumbaugh Family as they reunite for an evening of music and praise on Sunday at Air Hill BIC Church. Doors open at 5:30PM. Event starts at 6PM.

The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is hosting Cabin Fever Music Fest on Saturday, February 17, in the Orchards Ballroom, 1580 Orchard Drive. Doors open at 4PM with music starting at 5PM.  Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Tables of 8 may be purchased for $80 and a name must be given to hold the table.  Performers will include Cameron Molloy, Jill Fulton Band, Tresa Day, Topper Brothers, Henri Verdel and Short Horse Wranglers.  A cash bar and the full menu will be available.  For more information, call the shelter at (717) 263-5791 or log onto cvas-pets.org.

Greencastle

The Winter Bounce Festival with Phantom Shadow Entertainment is a fun family event for kids 12 and under. There will be inflatables, a DJ, games, mini -golf, food, and much more.  Walk-ins welcome or you may want to book your own party area.  Every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in February 2018.  Friday Hours 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday Hours 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday Hours 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Ages 12 and under $10 — Ages 2 and Under $5.

Harrisburg

Get Ready for the 40th annual Motorama Events! This weekend, February 17th and 18th see the nation’s largest all indoor motorsports event at the PA Farm Show Complex, 2300 N. Cameron St, Harrisburg.  Motorama is about racing – watch Arena Cross, Go Kart, Quarter Midget and Remote Control Racing or take a walk through the Rod, Custom and Classic Car Show.  Onsite admission ticket pricing:  Single Day Adult Saturday Pass $30; Single Day Adult Sunday Pass $20; Single Day Child Saturday OR Sunday Pass (6-11) $10; Children 5 and under are FREE.  Saturday 2/17 9AM-10PM; Sunday 2/18 9AM-5PM.

 

The National Civil War Museum and United Concordia Dental will celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10AM – 4PM as part of their annual Community Free Day. The Museum is proud to provide activities and entertainment for the community, completely free of charge to visitors.

On Sunday, February 18 (12:30PM & 3PM) at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts join the dancers of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, violinist Peter Sirotin, and pianist Ya-Ting Chang on the Whitaker Center stage for a journey through the rich world of human emotion. In an interactive setting, your child will explore a variety of emotions and learn how the combination of sound and movement captures and communicates the human experience.  This is a FREE event geared for ages 8-12.  RSVP here (strongly encouraged).

Gettysburg

The 2018 Adams County Home Show is Friday February 16 (4PM – 8PM) & Saturday February 17 (10AM – 6PM) at the All Star Events Complex.  Free Admission and Parking, Raffle Drawing, Student Design Competition, Children’s Activities (10AM-2PM Saturday), Nail Pounding Contest – Saturday 2:30PM, Food, and Rocky 98.5 Broadcasting Live – Friday 5PM-7PM.

Celebrate love and chocolate at Adams County Winery’s annual For the Love of Chocolate event.  On Feb. 17 and 18, try a petite pairing of three gourmet chocolates with three delicious wines. Wine and chocolate flights are $14/person.

Hershey

Zoo America has $6 Fridays where all visitors get in for $6 every Friday during the winter through March 2018.

Join the Hershey’s Characters and Hersheypark Band on Saturdays and Sundays in February as they perform and parade through Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction.  Admission is free and great for all ages!  February 17-18 & 24-25 at 2:30PM.
