Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend!

SHIPPENSBURG

The Shippensburg Fair continues through July 28.  Food, entertainment, livestock exhibits, home products, tractor pulls, horse shows, rides, and games for all ages.  Friday, July 27 is a Shippensburg Truck & Tractor Pull at 7PM.  Free Admission.  $5 to park.

Long’s Family Catering & Donuts will be in Shippensburg at the West End Office Complex on Saturday, July 28 from 8AM – Noon. Strawberry Filled, Chocolate Dipped with mini peanut butter cups, Glazed, Powdered, Cinnamon Sugar, Glazed donut holes.

Shippensburg Community Park & Recreation is hosting an after hour Splash Party on Saturday, July 28.  From 8PM – 10PM, swim under the lights at Memorial Park Pool!  Admission is $3 for all ages (2 & under free).

CHAMBERSBURG/FAYETTEVILLE

CCT’s STAGE Camp presents “Shrek the Musical, Jr.” live on-stage at the Capitol Theatre July 28. Come see what 60 kids can accomplish in just one week! Two shows only: 2PM and 7PM. General admission seating: $10/Children 12 & younger: free.

A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1PM to 4PM throughout Summer & Fall!

North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, Saturday, July 28 from 8AM to Noon

For those who could benefit from a spirit of generosity, Project Big Love will be held Saturday, July 28, starting at 9AM til 2PM at the Mont Alto fairgrounds off Pa. 997.  The first 1,000-1,500 children will get a free pair of sneakers and a free backpack filled with school supplies. In addition, all children can get free haircuts, shoulder-neck massages and manicures. Families can get a free lunch, and each adult can leave with two free bags of groceries.  Carnival games, a bounce house, and a community services and prayer tent will also be available. Children must be present. Rain or Shine.

The Allan Scott Band will perform in concert on Saturday, July 28 from 7PM to 8:30PM at Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church.  Admission by donation.

FREE Concerts at Chambersburg Memorial Park Kiwanis Band Shell continue all Summer long. View the dates HERE.

On July 28 between 5PM & 7PM, Chick-fil-A Chambersburg will be giving away one gallon of sweet or unsweetened tea per drive thru car (they will give away 120 gallons).

GREENCASTLE

The Rescue Hose Co. will host Carnival Food Friday on July 27, 11AM – 7PM.  HOCO, Pork BBQ, Brisket, Fresh Cut Fries, and Drinks.  Cheeseburgers, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Italian Sausages, and limited Country Ham too.

NEWVILLE/CARLISLE

The Carlisle Parks and Recreation Department offers a medley of free cultural programs and musical concerts at the Thornwald Amphitheater known as the Summer Artist Series. The Carrol J. Warrell Theater of Arts, an outdoor theater, is host on Sunday evenings, June 3 – August 5, weather permitting.  On Sunday, July 29, 6:30PM is Christine and the Road King.  View the Facebook Event here.

This weekend’s double-feature at Cumberland Drive-in is “Mission Impossible:  Fallout” and “Skyscraper.” Gates open at 7PM.  First Feature begins at approximately 8:50PM.

HANOVER

The Utz Summer Bash at Utz Outlet Store, 861 Carlisle St. Hanover will be held on Friday, July 27 from 10AM – 4PM!  This is a free, carnival style event.  There will be food trucks, face painting, a dunk tank, free stuff and much, much more!

On July 28, the Annual Dutch Festival will be held in Center Square, Hanover from 8AM-4PM.  Delicious foods, handmade crafts and great music.  This event is rain or shine.

HALIFAX

At Lake Tobias, July 28 – 29, is a special event Wild Days Weekend.  There will be Photo ops with baby animals and children’s activities from 11AM – 4PM.

HAGERSTOWN, MD
