OngoingEvery Monday through October:  Open Air Market

Southampton Township Cumberland County Open Air Market (STCC) features local homegrown produce and handmade artists.  It is located at 180 Airport Road, Shippensburg.  Hours:  Mondays 3PM – 7PM through September 24.  Mondays 3PM – 6PM in October.


 September 14 & 15:  Uprise Festival ’18

Uprise Festival ’18, a Christian music festival will be held September 14 and September 15 at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds.  Artists & Speakers, Camping, Grit N Wit, Kids Zone, Petting zoo, Food vendors, Meet & Greets, Giveaways and more!  For full line up and ticket info visit uprisefest.com.

 


September 22:  Beer and Wine Festival

Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, D.O.I.T. and SADCO (Shippensburg Area Development Corporation) have joined forces to bring a Beer and Wine Festival to Shippensburg.  On September 22, enjoy beer & wine tastings, live music, games of chance, yard games & food!  Attendees MUST be 21 years or older and ID is required.  The event will be held at the Shippensburg Fair grounds from 1PM-5PM.  For tickets, go here.

September 22:  Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest

The 28th annual Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018, 10AM – 3PM at The Musser Farm, Shippensburg.  The farm on Pinola Road raises crops on 320 acres to feed 150 mature milk cows and 150 young stock.   In addition to learning about the dairy farm, visitors will have the opportunity to travel by bus to Maplewood Farm Market.  Farm Wagon Tours, Agriculture education, Milk a cow by hand, Free Parking and Admission, Free Milk & Ice Cream, Lunch available for purchase at the FFA Food Stand.

September 22:  Vigilant Hose Company Open House

Join the Vigilant House Company for their Open House on September 22, 10AM – 4PM.  Fire Truck Rides, Station Tours, Entertainment for Kids, and Fire Extinguisher training.  Food available for purchase from The Wheelhouse Cafe.


September 29:  Customer Appreciation Days at Maplewood

Maplewood Farm Market is having their 2018 Customer Appreciation Days on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29. 10% off fall decor, pumpkins, mums, Indian corn, straw bales, planters, corn shocks and more!  Enjoy a homemade apple dumpling with a scoop of ice cream for $1.99.  Deli Specials on Ham off the bone, American cheese, Peanut Butter Apple Dip, and Pumpkin Cream Cheese.  FREE refreshments.

September 29:  2nd Annual Library Celebration Day

Come celebrate the Shippensburg Public Library on September 29, 9AM – 2PM.  Activities include an open air market, community band, chicken dinner/bake sale (hosted by the Friends of the library), authors, and programs for children and adults.

September 29:  Farm to Table Dinner

The 2018 Farm to Table Dinner organized by Shippensburg D.O.I.T will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 5PM.  Tickets can be purchased here or from Jalex at 128 E King St, Shippensburg.  Menu includes: steamship round, pulled pork, tossed salad, spinach walnut salad w/ maple syrup/Dijon mustard dressing, pasta salad, baked potato, baked sweet potato, beet & onion salad, pepper slaw, fresh corn, carrots w/ peach glaze, desserts and more!

September 29:  Movies in the Park (Peter Rabbit)

An Outdoor Movie will be show on Saturday, September 29 after the Farm to Table Dinner.  Free admission.  Peter Rabbit will be shown on McCreary Avenue, next to the Shippensburg Police Station at dusk.


October 6:  Ready, Set, Explore Event

You are invited to join WITF at the Shippensburg Recreation Center for a Ready, Set, Explore event with Katerina Kittycat.  On Saturday, October 6, 9AM – 11AM children will create fun arts and crafts, create building projects, and meet Katerina Kittycat.  This is a free, family event but RSVP is required by completing the form HERE!

October 6:  Pumpkin Patch Playtime

Pumpkin Patch Playtime will be held October 6 (1PM – 4PM) at The Local Gathering, 611 Shippensburg Rd.  Pumpkin Painting; Bobbing for Apples; Pumpkin Bowling; Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin and Fishing for Candy. Ticket prices $5/child or $20/immediate family.


October 13:  Fall Fling

Southampton Township Cumberland County Park and Recreation will be hosting a Fall Fling on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Multi-Purpose Center located at 56 Cleversburg Road, Shippensburg. There will be bounce houses, live music, food along with a large variety of other vendors. There will be face painting, craft area, wagon & pony rides.


October 20:  Halloween Parade

The Annual Shippensburg Halloween parade will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 7PM. The rain date is Tuesday, October 23. Each year this event is coordinated by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee.


October 27:  Fall Fest

Shippensburg Community Parks & Recreation Authority including Southampton Township Franklin County & Shippensburg Borough will be having a Fall Fest on Saturday, October 27 from 5PM – 8PM at Veteran’s Stadium Memorial Park.  This is a free community event & social gathering which includes candy for Trunk or Treat (6-8PM) and family fun activities.  Hay ride, obstacle course, pumpkin patch, photo booth, carnival games, costume contest, first responders, free coffee/hot chocolate.


November 16:  Christmas Parade

The 27th Annual Shippensburg Christmas Parade will take place Friday, November 16, 2018 at 7PM.   Sponsored by the Downtown Organizations Investing Together (D.O.I.T), the parade will feature marching bands, school groups, church youth groups, Boy and Girl Scouts, businesses and other organizations, and Santa Claus.  The theme is “Christmas Around the World.  New this year, Z Arch Barn Farm in Easton, PA will have two of their reindeer at the Christmas event!
