Strawberry Picking in South Central PA
Picking your own strawberries is a sweet treat in South Central PA. There’s nothing quite like a perfectly ripe strawberry that has just been picked from the field!
Here’s a guide to places where you can pick your own berries in Shippensburg & Beyond. Most fields open in late May or early June. However, since these opportunities are weather-dependent, be sure to check the farms’ website/Facebook page for hours and to make sure their strawberries are ready.

Pick your own strawberries starts Thursday, May 27. Hours for picking strawberries are 8 AM – 11 AM and 4 PM – 7 PM every day except Sundays. The price for u-pick is $2.99/lb. Prepicked strawberries are also available in the store.

Pick Your Own Strawberry Patch opens Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Pick Your Own Pricing is by the pound ($3.60/lb). You can bring your own containers or purchase a picking basket. Their picking baskets are $2 each and can hold about 6 lbs of strawberries (about 4 quarts) level. Pick Your Own Hours: Monday – Saturday 8 am-6 pm Sunday 1 pm-6 pm (two Sundays May 30 and June 6). Pre-picked strawberries will be sold by the quart at 3 locations: Farmstand on Etter Rd, Philadelphia Ave, and Snavely’s Garden Corner. $6.25 – $5.75/ quart (#1s and #2s) Stand hours: 9 am-5 pm (Snavely’s opens 9:30 am; Philadelphia Ave opens 10 am)

The Drying Shed will be opening U-pick Strawberries on Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day) at 8 AM. The U-pick price is $3/lb. You may bring your own container to pick or buy boxes.

Pick your own Strawberries will open on Wednesday, May 26 at 8 AM. The price for picking your own berries is $2.60/lb. Please check their Facebook page for updates but hours are generally 8 AM – 8 PM. They are open on Memorial Day from 8 AM – 5 PM. Pre-picked strawberries are available for $5.75/quart.

The anticipated date for strawberries: Pick your own strawberries will open Tuesday, June 1. The fields will be open from 7 AM until 6 PM Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, fields will close at 2 PM. Closed on Sundays. The price is $14 for a 4-quart container (provided). UPDATE: There will be pick your own Strawberries on Memorial Day – hours are 7 AM-Noon.
