Colonel Denning State Park hosts Mermaid Meet & Greet and Swing Band Concert
On Sunday, September 5, 2021, the Friends of Colonel Denning State Park will be sponsoring a Mermaid Meet & Greet and an outdoor concert by the Shippensburg Swing Band at Colonel Denning State Park in Newville. Both events are FREE.
The 2021 Miss Mermaid Pennsylvania, also known as Gingersnap the Mermaid (Jillian Breneman), will arrive at 5:00 PM. Here’s your opportunity to meet the local underwater resident and have your picture taken!
The Shippensburg Swing Band will perform outdoors beginning at 6:30 PM. The Swing Band is under the direction of Vicki Baker.
In addition, Smokey Bear and William Denning will make an appearance.
The park is eight miles north of Newville at 1599 Doubling Gap Road.
