Fall Furnace Fest at Pine Grove Furnace State Park

The 2021 Fall Furnace Festival is planned for Saturday, October 16, 11 AM – 7 PM, and Sunday, October 17, 11 AM – 4 PM at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. There is no charge to enter the Park or the Festival itself and most activities are free.

In years past, the event featured food and craft vendors, live musical entertainment, historical demonstrations, bee keeping demonstrations, hayrides, Smokey Bear, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, candle dipping, and kid’s crafts.

The famous Hairy Hand and Pumpkin Float is Saturday evening, October 16. The pumpkin parade is at 6:15 PM (pumpkins are $5 and $3) followed by the Hairy Hand Legend on Fuller Lake beach. The legend will be told, and the raft of glowing pumpkins will be set afloat on the lake to keep the hairy hand away.

Pine Grove Furnace State Park is located at 1100 Pine Grove Road, Gardners. The rain or shine event is held in the Furnace Stack and Fuller Lake Day Use Areas.
