Thursday, May 26, 2022, is Ascension Day. This religious holiday is forty days after Easter and always on a Thursday, a day set aside to celebrate Christ’s ascension into heaven. The Amish celebrate by closing their businesses and spending time with friends and family.

Amish-owned businesses closed on Thursday, May 26, include Lurgan Greenhouse, Maplewood Farm Market, Dutch Country Store, Country Store Cafe, C & S Country Store, and BB’s Grocery Outlet.
