2023 List of Easter-Inspired Fun

Easter fun is around the corner!  This year, Easter is Sunday, April 9, 2023.  Here’s a list of Easter Events in the South Central PA area.  This list will be updated as additional Easter activities are received.

March 25

ORRSTOWN: Orrstown United Brethren Church at 3689 Orrstown Road is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and Vendor Fair on March 25. There will be vendors set up at 9 AM.  The egg hunt is at 10 AM.


March 26
NEWVILLE: Green Spring First Church of God is hosting a FREE event, Eggcellent Eggstravaganza, on Sunday, March 26, from 12 – 3 PM. There will be plenty of goodies, food, and fun for the whole family. The afternoon will include lunch, popcorn, cotton candy, a photo booth, candy, and face painting. Be sure the children bring a basket or bag to collect their treats! Green Spring First Church of God is at 1140 Green Spring Road, Newville.

April 1

SHIPPENSBURG: Ridge Church of the Brethren (1095 Ridge Rd.) is having a community egg hunt on April 1 at 10 AM.  Children from baby/toddler to 5th grade are welcome for a Egg Hunt, Food, and an Easter Bunny visit. Come early for registration.  After the hunt, there will be free hotdogs, chips, and drink.

SHIPPENSBURG: Parsons Interstate Ford is hosting an Easter Egg Drive Thru for children on April 1, at 1 PM. Children will receive a gift bag with plastic eggs containing candy and prizes. Parsons Interstate Ford is at 196 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg.

SHIPPENSBURG: Coy Public Library of Shippensburg will host a Spring Celebration on Saturday, April 1, 12 PM – 2 PM with a Candy Hunt throughout the library, Sock Hop with music, Easter Bunny visits from 12:15 – 12:45 PM and 1 – 1:30 PM, and light refreshments.

ORRSTOWN: Country Pickins 2 at 11472 Cumberland Highway, Orrstown, is hosting Brunch with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 1, from 10 AM until 1 PM. Kids’ meals will be $4 for ages 12 and under. Take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Each child gets an Easter Surprise bag too!

CARLISLEOn Saturday, April 1, from Noon to 3 PM, Georgie Lou’s Retro Candy and Destination Carlisle will host the 10th Downtown Carlisle Bunny Hop. This day of spring fun will center around a downtown-wide activity for children 12 and under, who will frolic to 40+ businesses collecting treats. Families are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday Best” to make the day festive. Each participating location will also have a sign indicating they are a stop for the event.

MARION:  A community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 1, at 9:30 AM at Marion First United Methodist Church at 94 Colorado Street, Marion. Rain or shine.

ORRTANNA: Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum & Candy Emporium will host its 11th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 1, from 10 AM – 2 PM. The free event features hunts for thousands of filled eggs and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Participants can arrive between 10 AM – 2 PM to hunt eggs in small groups. Hunts will run approximately every 15 minutes, with the last hunt at 1:45 PM. Children will be divided into age groups before each hunt and may collect up to 20 eggs each. The busiest time is 10 AM – 11 AM, while the least busy is after 1 PM. Registration is required and will remain open until the spots are filled. Children must be walking-10 years old to participate, with age exceptions for hunters with disabilities. No unregistered children may participate. Register HERE.


April 2

NEWVILLE: Newville Area Churches will host an Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 2, at 3 PM at Newville Community Park.  There will be an Egg Hunt, Snacks, Prizes, Facepainting, Easter Lesson, and more! There will be separate areas for walking ages, 3, 4-7, and 8-12.

WAYNESBORO:  The Quincy Panthers will host an Easter Egg Hunt at the Quincy Community Ox Roast Grounds on Sunday, April 2.  The gates open at 1:15 PM.  The egg hunt starts at 2 PM. This Easter Egg Hunt, with prizes, dancing, and the Easter Bunny, is for ages 12 and under. The Quincy Community Ox Roast Grounds are at 8098 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro.


April 7

ROXBURY: Blue Mountain Skating Rink hosts a Skate with the Easter Bunny on Friday evening, April 7, 2023, from 7 – 9 PM. Admission is $4, and skate rental is $1. Children under 6 are free and non-skating adults are free as well. The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, on Rt 641 at 12322 Forge Hill Road.


April 8

ROXBURY: The Lurgan Township Lions Club hosts an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, at 1 PM for ages 12 and under.  Prizes will be awarded!  The Lurgan Township Lions Club is at 13978 Cumberland Hwy in Roxbury.

SHIPPENSBURG: Easter Eggstravaganza is Saturday, April 8, Noon until 2 PM at First Assemby of God, 420 Baltimore Road, Shippensburg. Age appropriate egg hunts, large and small bouncy houses, games, face painting, petting zoo provided by Girl Scout Troop 80972. It’s all free and open to the Community!

SHIPPENSBURG:  The Shippensburg History Center at 52 W. King Street hosts an Easter Egg Hunt and family day on April 8 from Noon to 1:30 PM. From 12 PM to 1 PM, families are encouraged to tour the historic Stewart House for Stewart House Bingo and play historical games such as “Shut the Box.” The egg hunt will begin at 1 PM. This is a free event; donations are encouraged!

NEWVILLE:  Newville First Church of God is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, at 10 AM for all children up to 5th grade. The children will be divided into small age groups with delayed start times so families can watch each of their children hunt eggs.  The church is located at 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville.

CHAMBERSBURG: The Igloo is holding its 1st annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, from 1 – 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend this Egg Hunt, which will be held in the grassy field behind The Igloo (2395 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg). Rain or Shine.

CHAMBERSBURG: PersonalTees by Ashanti & WEBBs Sports Bar presents The Great Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, from 12 – 4 PM at Andrew Buchanan Elementary School (730 E. Washington St, Chambersburg).  There will be giveaways, prizes, food, and the Easter Bunny.

CHAMBERSBURG: St. Luke Lutheran at 2695 Luther Drive in Chambersburg is hosting an Easter celebration on April 8 at 10 AM with crafts, activities, and an Easter egg hunt. All ages are welcome! Bring a basket and one adult to stay with your group.

WAYNESBORO: Brothers of the Brush is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the Renfrew Park (1010 E. Main St, Waynesboro) at the barn on Saturday, April 8, starting promptly at 1 PM for ages 0 – 12 years. The Brothers of the Brush Inc. was organized in 1968 to celebrate the Sesquicentennial of Waynesboro.

GREENCASTLE: Peckin Thyme Farms invites you to its 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, from 10 AM to 3 PM at Upton Community Center, 8978 Kuhn Rd, Greencastle. Please go here for the details of the registration and donation option.  Guests will enjoy thousands of eggs to hunt, photo booth opportunities, food, games, and crafts. In addition, there will be special appearances by the Easter Bunny. You may also visit the “Bunny Trail” to see some available bunnies for adoption.

MERCERSBURG: An Easter Egg Hunt by Two Top Ruritan will be on Saturday, April 8, at 10 AM. Two Top Ruritan is at 12270 Two Top Rd, Mercersburg.

BIGLERVILLE:  Hollabaugh Brothers Fruit Farm and Market is excited to invite families to the farm for their annual Hop Along the Bunny Trail event on Saturday, April 8,  10 AM- 1 PM.  Recommended for children ages 0-8.  Cost: $12 per participating child.  Egg Hunts in the apple orchard will be broken up into age groups and will occur every 20 minutes. In addition, there are photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, a scavenger hunt, lawn games, ice cream for the children, a wagon ride, and more.  Free admission for parents and grandparents.  Register HERE.

GETTYSBURG: The Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg hosts Hop On Over For Easter Fun on Saturday, April 8. Head to the food court between Noon and 3 PM to meet the Easter Bunny, Balloon Artists, and mascots Elmo and Daniel Tiger. There will be free carriage rides (pick up and drop off is at the Food Court).


April 15

NEWVILLE:  Meadowbrooke Gourds Annual Egg Hunt will be held on April 15. They will hold 3 gourd egg hunts at 11 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2 PM. Each hunt takes place in a wide-open field of winter wheat that will last one hour and is limited to 400 people. This is a hunt for all ages. This year to participate in the hunt, Meadowbrooke Gourds is collecting a donation of $5 per person. Registration has opened. Meadowbrooke Gourds is the largest maker of hand-crafted gourds in the world. The farm and retail store is at 125 Potato Road, Carlisle, PA.
