Shippensburg

On Friday evening, April 22 4 pm – 7 pm view the paintings of Satsvarupa, a Hare Krishna monk whose art has challenged the establishment. Satsvarupa has exhibited in Washington D.C., and New York City as well as many other galleries. Shippensburg Arts Programming and Education (SHAPE) gallery is located at 19 East King St. Shippensburg.

Little Princess Playhouse April 2016-001

The Little Princess Playhouse at Shippensburg University will present “Wizard of Oz” and “Rapunzel” on April 23, 2016 and April 30, 2016, in Stewart Hall, Old Main Drive, Shippensburg.  Shows will be held at 10 and 11:30 a.m. both days.  Tickets are $4, and will be available at the door.  Seating is limited.  Parking is free and available at nearby Memorial Auditorium.  Look for the pink balloons!

Clutter for Causes is an indoor yard sale that will be held at Messiah UMC (Fellowship Hall), 30 S. Penn St., Shippensburg, PA on Saturday, April 23 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Shippensburg Weis location is celebrating Earth Day on April 23 10 AM – 1 PM! The Monarch Butterfly is losing its habitat and there is a shortage of Milkweed (the only thing that the caterpillars can eat). Take your children and head to Weis on 4/23 to get seeds to plant your own Milkweed.

Shippensburg DECA is hosting it’s 4th Annual Spring Expo Saturday, April 23 from 12pm-4pm outdoors in the Ship Amphitheater (beside the CUB, across from Reisner Dining Hall) on campus.  A few of the vendors you can expect to see at the expo include Tastefully Simple, Jamberry, ThirtyOne, LuLaRoe, Doterra Essential Oils, Usborne Books & More, Younique, and many more!

Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation and the Shippensburg Area Athletic Association will be hosting Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth on April 23, 2016  9:00am – 1:00pm at Shippensburg Memorial Park.  Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition.  Bring a copy of your birth certificate and have parent or guardian complete registration/waiver form.  For more information go HERE.

Ship Shape Day is April 23, 2016.  Registration starts at 8:30 am at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 W. Orange St.  to start cleaning up Shippensburg!  There will be an area for Electronics Recycling at ShipShape Day. You can drop off old electronics except for tube type TVs at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activities Center.

The Colors of Spring art exhibit at The Thought Lot will be opening this Saturday, April 23rd from 5-8pm. All ages welcome and FREE. Exhibit runs through June 5th.

Carlisle

A semi-annual book sale will be held in the chapel of The Salvation Army, 20 East Pomfret Street. The sale will take place on April 22nd and 23rd from 9AM  – 3PM. $5 a bag for all books! A wide variety of children’s books, novels, cook books, devotionals, etc. will be available.

Spring Carlisle, a collector and classic car swap meet, car corral and auction is held April 20 -24 in Carlisle. The event is host to thousands of collector and classic automotive enthusiasts, who travel to the Carlisle Fairgrounds to buy, sell and celebrate all things automotive.  Adult Admission: Daily Wed.- Sat. $10 / Sun $7 / Event Pass $30; Gate Times: Wed.-Sat. 7am-6pm , Sun. 7am-3pm; Auctions Dates: Thursday & Friday, 2-10pm

Newville

 Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville, is open Friday – Sunday.  April 22  & April 23 Gates open at 7 pm.  Feature begins around 8:10 pm.  First Feature:  Jungle Book  Second Feature: Kung Fu Panda 3  Sunday April 24 Bonus Feature – Showing Jungle Book only. Sunday’s admission includes one free small soda OR small popcorn!  $8 Adults;  $4 Children 3-12; FREE for Children Under 3

Mechanicsburg

On Friday, April 22th 8pm, Williams Grove Speedway,1 Speedway Dr, Mechanicsburg will have Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial 410 Sprints Hoosier Diamond Series/Street Stocks/EMMR Photo Shoot Gate admission $18, Youth $10, Kids 12 and under FREE.

Mechanicsburg Earth Day Festival is a one-day event held Saturday, April 23 9 AM – 3 PM.  Music, Workshops, Vendors, and Kid’s Activities.

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641.  The roller skating rink is open for public skating this Friday, April 22 from 7-9 PM Admission is only $3 and skate rentals are $1.  Kids 6 and under are FREE and non-skating adults are FREE.

Chambersburg

Rockapella will perform April 22 7 PM, Capital Theatre, 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg.  For tickets visit www.thecapitoltheatre.org

The Jubilation Ringers, a nationally recognized handbell choir, will perform in the nave of St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, on Sunday, April 24, at 4:00 PM.  Admission is free.  A free will offering will be taken.

Greencastle

Camp Joy El FREE day

The Joy El Jubilee is scheduled on April 23rd from 10 AM to 4 PM for a family fun day full of camp activities. This is a FREE event! Camp Joy El is a non-denominational Christian camp that provides Summer Camps, Retreat Weekends, and more year around and is located at 3741 Joy-El Drive, Greencastle, PA.
