2021 List of South Central PA’s Easter Egg Hunts and other Easter-Inspired Fun

Easter fun is around the corner!  This year, Easter is Sunday, April 4, 2021.  Here’s a list of Easter Events in the South Central PA area.  This list will be updated as additional Easter-inspired activities are received.

Saturday, March 27

SHIPPENSBURG:  Parsons Interstate Ford invites you to their first-ever Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 27, beginning at 1 PM. Over 1,000 Easter eggs will be given out in pre-packaged bags. Eggs will be distributed to each vehicle in a drive-thru line. Please stay inside your vehicle at all times. Random bags will have prize eggs inside, and eggs will be handed out while supplies last—one bag per child.  Parsons Interstate Ford is located at 196 Walnut Bottom Road in Shippensburg, PA.

CHAMBERSBURG:  The Lifehouse Church is hosting Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 27 at the bandshell at Memorial Park in Chambersburg from noon – 2 PM.  This is a free family-friendly event featuring a creative Easter story, balloons, crafts, snacks, gifts, a photo with the Easter bunny, and a take-home Easter Egg bag.

CHAMBERSBURG: New Guilford BIC Church at 1575 Mont Alto Road in Chambersburg is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt this year rain or shine on Saturday, March 27 at 10 AM. There will be lots of plastic eggs filled with individually wrapped candy and trinkets! All kids ages toddlers to 6th grade are invited to come out to the church for this fun-filled morning!

MONT ALTO:  The Quincy Panthers and Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Department will host an Easter Egg Hunt at the Events Complex (Carnival Grounds) on Saturday, March 27.  The gates open at 12 PM.  The egg hunt starts at 1 PM. This special event is for ages 12 and under. 

WAYNESBORO:  The Otterbein Church is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 27 at 11 AM at the Otterbein Recreation Park (13375 Welty Road). All are welcome, age 2 through grade 5 for tons of fun and more than 18,000 filled eggs!  Rain date is April 3.

MERCERSBURG:  The Woman of the Moose, Chapter 830 is hosting a Children’s Easter Egg Hunt and Meet the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 27 at 1 PM.  The rain date is March 28 at 1 PM.  The location is the Mercersburg Moose Lodge at 107 Landis Drive, Mercersburg.

ROCKHILL: Rockhill Trolley Museum and the East Broad Top Railroad are teaming up for an Easter event.  On March 27, guests ride the train and hunt for eggs, then ride a trolley and meet the Easter Bunny.  This event is sold out.

CARLISLE:  The Meeting House is planning a Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt on March 27.  Sign up for a time slot (in family groups) between 11 AM – 7 PM and get ready to find clues, solve mysteries and find the hidden Eggs all with a flashlight.

HERSHEY:  The AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive will be having an indoor Egg Hunt (use the clues to find hidden Easter Egg baskets throughout the museum) on Saturday, March 27, 11 AM–1 PM.  All visitors 12 and under are eligible to participate in the hunt. There is a special admission price for adults accompanying their children.

ORRTANNA: Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum & Candy Emporium will host its 9th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 27, from 10 AM – 2 PM. The free event features hunts for thousands of filled eggs and a visit with the Easter Bunny. You must register for this event (SOLD OUT).

GETTYSBURG:  The Outlet Shoppes of Gettysburg will have Easter Fun on Saturday, March 27 from Noon to 3 PM.  At the Gazebo will be the Easter Bunny, Balloon Artists, and special Mouse Guests.  Complimentary Carriage Rides will be offered at the food court (pickup and drop off location)


Sunday, March 28

ROCKHILL: Rockhill Trolley Museum and the East Broad Top Railroad are teaming up for an Easter event!  On March 28, guests ride the train and hunt for eggs, then ride a trolley and meet the Easter Bunny.  This event is sold out.

ORRTANNA:  On Sunday, March 28 at 1 PM, The Adams County Fish & Game is hosting a Children’s Easter Egg Hunt.  The event for ages 11 and under will be held at 955 Jack Road, Orrtanna.  Meet the Easter Bunny too!


Thursday, April 1

GREENCASTLE:  Fun Castle Family Fun Center (3054 Buchanan Trail East) will host an indoor/outdoor egg hunt on Thursday, April 1 from 5 – 6:30 PM.    Inside the eggs will be free tokens, free activity cards, a variety of candy, and more! All ages up to 16 are welcome.

Saturday, April 3

SHIPPENSBURG:  First Assembly of God (420 Baltimore Road, Shippensburg) is having a Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 3 at 10 AM.  Age-appropriate areas mean fun for the whole family!

NEWBURG:  An Easter Parade EGGstraganza drive-thru event will be held at the Newburg First Church of God (260 Newburg Road) on April 3, starting at 1:30 PM and running until 2:30 PM.  The Newburg Hopewell Volunteer Fire Police are the sponsors of this family-friendly event.

ROXBURY:  The Easter Bunny is coming to the Blue Mountain Skating Rink on April 3 from 1 – 3 PM.  Come on out and skate with the Easter Bunny and bring your camera. Admission is $4 and skate rentals is $1 (non-skaters are free). Kids under the age of 6 are free.

NEWVILLE:  Newville First Church of God is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3 at 10 AM for all children up to 5th grade. The children will be divided into small age groups with delayed start times so families can watch each of their children hunt eggs.  The church is located at 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville.

NEWVILLE:  Join The Green Spring First Church of God for a drive-through Easter Scavenger Hunt and Egg Hunt for children age 12 and under. The event is  Saturday, April 3 from 1 PM – 2:30 PM.  Children must be in the vehicle to receive goodies.

NEWVILLE:  The American Legion will be holding a drive-thru Easter Extravaganza in place of the egg hunt at the ball fields this year.  The event on April 1 is open to area children ages newborn to 10 years old.  Drive-by the pavilion from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM for a bag of Easter goodies.

CARLISLE:  Come out to see the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 3 at the Eggsplosion Craft & Vendor Show at the Carlisle Expo Center. Doors open from 9 AM until 3 PM. Close to 100 vendors will be there ready to showcase their Spring decor, Easter gifts, and more.

CARLISLE:  There is an Easter Egg Hunt for ages Birth thru 5th grade on Saturday, April 3, 10 AM – Noon at Carlisle United Methodist Church (333 S Spring Garden St). There will be Egg Hunts, crafts, games, a photo area, The Easter Story, and raffle prizes!  Register here.

CARLISLE:  Bethel Assembly of God (1412 Holly Pike) is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 28 at 2 PM. Children 12 and under are invited to participate and will have the opportunity for lots of candy and fun. The event will be outdoors. No registration is required.

CHAMBERSBURG:  West Side BIC Church (2665 Lincoln Way West) is hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 3.  Activities for all ages of children and youth begin at 1 PM.

CHAMBERSBURG:  The Open Door Church Kid’s Ministry is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at 10 AM for infants through 5th grade.  The Open Door Church is located at 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg.

CHAMBERSBURG:  Hip Gypsy Emporium (2168 Mont Alto Rd) is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt for kids 12 and under on Saturday, April 3 at 2 PM.   Over an acre of Easter Eggs to be collected. Sectioned off in age groups.

CHAMBERSBURG:  Bethal AG Church (400 Miller Street) will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 AM on Saturday, April 3.  Go to https://bagcburg.org/easter to pre-register your child today.

CHAMBERSBURG:  Have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny at M&S Harley Davidson on April 3 from 11 AM – 2 PM.

MERCERSBURG:  The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Mercersburg Lions Club will take place at Mercersburg Lions Club Park on Saturday, April 3 at 2 PM.  Age groups 0-3, 4-6, and 7-12.  Candy-filled eggs as well as prize eggs for each age group.  The park is located at 405 South Park Street in Mercersburg.

MERCERSBURG:  Two Top Ruritan (home of the Gas and Steam Show) is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on April 3 starting at 10 AM.  Age Groups:  1-3, 4-6, 7-10, and 11+.

McCONNELLSBURG:  Stone Hollow Farm is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast Brunch on Saturday, April 3.  Doors open at 10 AM.  The event is $10 a person and includes a breakfast brunch, appearance by the Easter Bunny, inflatable bounce houses, and an easter egg hunt with candy-filled eggs, and a live DJ.  Stone Hollow Farm, a wedding venue is located at 16937 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg.

GREENCASTLE:  The Greencastle Lions Club will be hosting a Kids Goody Bag Drive-Thru on Saturday, April 3 at 1 PM for children up to age 12. Vehicles will enter GA school property from Leitersburg Street, drive behind Middle School, stop under the breezeway for bags, and exit Ridge Ave. Four random bags will have a certificate for candy baskets from Mrs. Gibbles Candies. Bags will include a coupon from Mikies for free ice cream cone and McDonald’s for free french fries. Children must be in the vehicle to receive goody bags.

WAYNESBORO:  There is an Easter Egg Hunt drive-through event at Renfrew Park (enter via Welty Road entrance) on Saturday, April 3 starting at 1 PM.  This event is for ages 0 – 12.  The event is sponsored by Brother’s of the Brush.

WAYNESBORO:  Waynesboro Veterinary Clinic and Mainstreet Waynesboro will host a special Easter Movie, “Hop” to benefit the Waynesboro Theatre Community Project and the Antietam Humane Society on April 3, 2 PM. Tickets cost $6 and include admission, popcorn, and a movie. Bring a donation or supplies for the Antietam Humane Society and get a free candy treat!

 

BIGLERVILLEHollabaugh Brothers Fruit Farm and Market are excited to invite families to the farm for their annual Hop Along the Bunny Trail event on Saturday, April 3,  10 AM- 1 PM.  Recommended for children ages 0-8.  Cost: $8 per participating child.  Egg Hunts in the orchard will be broken up into three age groups and will occur every 20 minutes.  Free admission for parents and grandparents.  Register HERE.

Saturday, April 10

CHAMBERSBURG:  An Easter Egg Hunt at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 346 Warm Spring Road will be held Saturday, April 10, 10:30 AM.  Ages 3-12 can enjoy fun crafts, an egg hunt & snacks!  There is no pre-registration.  This event is free and open to the community.

CARLISLE: On Saturday, April 10, 2021, from Noon to 3 PM, Georgie Lou’s Retro Candy and Destination Carlisle will be offering the 8th Downtown Carlisle Bunny Hop.  This day of spring fun will center around a downtown-wide activity for children 12 and under, who will frolic from business to business collecting treats.  Families are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday Best” to make the day more festive.  A map of participating locations will be available online to eliminate the lines usually seen at the start of this event, and participants can start wherever they want along the route. Each participating location will also have a sign indicating they are a stop for the event.
