Summer is here!  Start making your weekend plans with our guide to South Central PA’s summer festivals in July.


JULY 2023
Newville Lions Club Fair | July 5-8, 2023 | NEWVILLE

The 2023 Newville Lions Club Community Fair will be held nightly, beginning at 5:30 PM on four evenings – July 5, July 6, July 7, and July 8. Enjoy good food, pageants, games, inflatables, fireworks (July 7), and entertainment. Saturday, July 8, is the tractor/truck pull. The Newville Lions Fairgrounds is located on Route 533 at 433 Shippensburg Road. There is free admission every night.

Greencastle Sidewalk Days | July 7 -8, 2023 | GREENCASTLE

Sidewalk Days takes place on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8, in and around Greencastle Square. The annual Greencastle Sidewalk Days feature sales at downtown stores, street-side vendors, community groups, food, Kids’ Zone, and entertainment. The streets will be closed to traffic for pedestrians along Baltimore Street, South Carlisle Street, and a portion of North Carlisle Street – come downtown and explore! Hours: Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Rural Life Festival | July 8, 2023 | NEWBURG

The Rural Life Festival provides a window into Pennsylvania’s past. The event is presented by Newburg United Methodist Church and held on Saturday, July 8, at 203 N. High St., Newburg, from 9 AM until 3 PM. Admission and parking are free. Visitors will see various demonstrations, displays, and old-time activities, including Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Displays, Working Steam Engine, Small Engines, Grain Thrashing, Horse Drawn Binder, Butcher Equipment Display, Potato Raising, Soap Making, Sheep Shearing, Spinning, and Weaving, Quilting, Wood Working, Broom Making, Blacksmithing, and Log Hewing. In addition, discover how food was prepared in the past with demonstrations of Scrapple Making, Fresh Apple Cider Making, Black Kettle Bean Soup, Kettle Corn, and Bread Baking. Children will enjoy a barrel train ride, a petting zoo, a kids’ maze, and more activities! Enjoy homemade foods such as Donuts, Chicken Bar-B-Q, Sandwiches, Soups, Hand-cut French Fries, Ice Cream, and Pretzels. Newburg United Methodist Church is 3 miles from exit 201 of the PA Turnpike. 

 

Caledonia Arts & Craft Fair | July 8, 2023 | FAYETTEVILLE

The 40th annual Arts & Crafts Fair at Caledonia State Park will be held Saturday, July 8, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Approximately 150 crafters and artists will have a variety of crafts ranging from wood carvings, pottery, baskets, wreaths, stained glass, walking sticks, folk art, needlework, custom leather, handcrafted furniture, and more. There is no admission fee. Caledonia State Park is located off Rt. 30 at 101 Pine Grove Road, Fayetteville. This is a rain or shine event.

Scoop-A-Palooza | July 8, 2023 | CHAMBERSBURG

Scoop-a-Palooza will be held on Saturday, July 8, at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School cafeteria from 10:30 AM-2 PM. Scoop-a-Palooza is an annual ice cream festival where attendees sample flavors from local ice cream shops and vote on their favorites. The event also offers fun kid activities and features a Human Sundae event at 12:30 PM. Blueberry Festival | June 8-9, 2023 | BIGLERVILLE

Hollabaugh Farms is celebrating with a Blueberry Festival on July 8 and July 9, Noon – 4:30 each day. The event features fresh blueberries and samples, homemade blueberry baked goods, blueberry ice cream, Pick-Your-Own Blueberries, wagon rides, yard games, and a fun kids’ activity. This year’s live music will be from country singer/songwriter Austin Rife. 

Franklin County Fair | July 9-15, 2023 | CHAMBERSBURG

The Franklin County Fair will be held July 9 -15 at the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club at 3725 Warm Spring Road. Admission to the county fair will be free in 2023 with a $5-per-vehicle parking fee Monday – Thursday and a $20-per-vehicle parking fee Friday and Saturday. Events and attractions at the fair include tractor pulls, Bull Ride Mania, children’s attractions, live entertainment, animals, food and more. Chrysler Nationals | July 14-16, 2023 | CARLISLE

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is July 14 – July 16 at Carlisle Fairgrounds, 1000 Bryn Mawr Road. The event features 2,800 vehicles from all eras of the Chrysler brand, including classics, muscle cars and high-performance new models. Cars, parts, tools, memorabilia, collectibles, and more will be for sale in the Mopar Automotive Flea Market, as well as the latest and greatest products within the Manufacturers Midway.

Meadowbrooke Gourds’ Summer Celebration | July 15, 2023 | CARLISLE

Meadowbrooke Gourds’ Summer Celebration will be held Saturday, July 15, from 8 AM – 2 PM. Activities include the Oops Sale, Artisans and Crafts, Food Trucks, Drinks, and live music from Tony Fitting. Bring your lawn chairs (live music). Not all venues take credit cards, so bring some cash along.

Old Market Day | July 15, 2023 | CHAMBERSBURG

On Saturday, July 15 is Old Market Day. The annual street festival with arts, crafts, and food vendors runs from 9 AM to 4 PM in downtown Chambersburg.

After Old Market Day is the Burning of Chambersburg reenactment. Activities begin at 7 PM with the final round of musical competition, A Cappella & Unplugged, followed by the reenactment of the Burning of Chambersburg with incredible light and atmospheric effects at dusk.

Blueberry Festival | July 15, 2023 |  DILLSBURG

The Blueberry Festival at Mt Airy Orchards on July 15, 7 AM – 1 PM, benefits the Harrisburg Food Pantry. Come for the Pancake Breakfast ($9.99 per person, 7–11 AM) and stay through the day for over 60 arts and crafts booths, JazzMe Band (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM), and pick-your-own berries. PlayLand Admission is $7.99 for general admission or $9.99 for enhanced admission. 

Upper Frankford Township Fire Company’s Annual Fireman’s Fair | July 20 – 22, 2023 | NEWVILLE

Upper Frankford Township Fire Co. has its annual fair Thursday through Saturday, July 20, 21, & 22. Enjoy nightly activities beginning at 5 PM, including Kiddyland, inflatables, games, and on-stage live entertainment. Parking and entry are free.

Old-Fashioned CornFest | July 23, 2023 | BIGLERVILLE

The annual Old-Fashioned CornFest at the Historic Round Barn will occur on Sunday, July 23, from 11:30 AM – 4 PM. You will find all your traditional CornFest favorites, sweet corn roasted in the husk over an apple-wood fire, pulled pork made from a secret family recipe, BBQ Chicken, and delicious peaches grilled to perfection and placed on a mound of ice cream. This annual event will also feature live music from Chuck Darwin and the Knuckle Draggers starting at Noon.

Shippensburg Fair | July 24 – 29, 2023 | SHIPPENSBURG

The Shippensburg Fair will be held from July 24–July 29, 2023. The fair features homemade food prepared by local non-profit organizations, entertainment, livestock displays and competitions, home products exhibits, tractor pulls, a craft show, and many rides and games! General admission to the Shippensburg Community Fair is free, and parking is $8. The fairground is at 10131 Possum Hollow Road. See the entire Fair Schedule here.

South Mountain Fair | July 25 – 29, 2023 | ARENDTSVILLE

The annual South Mountain Fair takes place July 25 – 29 in Arendtsville. Enjoy rides for the kids, farm animals, exhibits, and food! See the entire schedule HERE. The admission price is $8. All carnival rides and entertainment is included in the admission. Free Parking.
