What’s Happening | March 31, April 1, & April 2

Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend in South Central PA!

Shippensburg

Katie’s Place Thrift Shop is having its next monthly sale this week, March 30, 31, April 1 from 8 AM – Noon.  The store is located at the old Martin’s Bakery Building (go down the hill to the bottom of the building) at the corner of S. Penn and E. Garfield Streets.

A Spaghetti Dinner benefiting the Better Days Animal League will be held Friday, March 31 from 5-7 PM at Memorial Lutheran Church.  $7 Adults / $5 Children.  Eat in or take out.  Reservations not required.

Shippensburg Area Middle School will present The Lion King Jr. on March 30, 31, and April 1, 2017.  All performances are at 7 PM.  Tickets $7 adults/$5 students.

Antiques Show & Sell is an appraisal show and auction benefiting Katie’s Place in Shippensburg.  The April 1 event will be held at the Beistle Company from 10 AM – 5 PM.  Appraisals are $10 per item.  Admission fee is $5 in advance or $8 at door.  Food concessions.  Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase, at $5 each.  For more information visit Antiques Show & Sell or their Facebook Event!

All area children are invited to the Annual Children’s Fair on Saturday, April 1, from 10 AM to 2 PM, in Heiges Field House at Shippensburg University. This year’s event will feature bounce houses, games, craft stations and free eye screenings for children. Admission, crafts and activities are free. Games require 25-cent tickets.  Entertainment will be provided by a German band, Heritage Dance Company, Little Princess Playhouse, Shippensburg Area Middle School Sixth Grade Jazz Band and Tillie the Clown.

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is open for public skating on Friday evenings from 7-9 PM. Admission is only $4 and skate rentals are $1.  Kids 6 and under are FREE and non-skating adults are FREE.

A Fundraiser Craft & Vendor Show takes place April 1 from 8AM – 1PM at Lurgan Township Lions Club Recreation Center.

Walnut Bottom

On Saturday, April 1 is Trinity Fellowship’s Spring Bloom Craft Show.  Many homemade, handcrafted items of all kinds, extensive breakfast and lunch menu, and bargains from Trinity’s Clothing Closet.

Carlisle

Meadowbrooke Gourds, located at 125 Potato Road Carlisle is having its Spring Sale April 1st until Friday, April 7th in their retail store.  During this time you will save 25% on all Spring/Easter and All Season regular Meadowbrooke Gourds.

Home Depot has a hands-on Kids workshop on Saturday, April 1 where you and your child can build a bunny basket.  Once the basket is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers.  Register HERE.

Mont Alto

Kite Tails in the Park will be held at the Mont Alto Recreation Area on Saturday, April 1.  10AM Workshop to Decorate Kites.  11AM Kites in the air.  Free Kite kit to each child ages pre-school through High School (with parent/adult).  Come decorate, assemble and fly your own kites at the pavilion and sports fields at the Mont Alto Park.  The Rain date is April 29th.

Chambersburg

The Easter Bunny will be arriving at the Chambersburg Mall on Friday, March 31st at Noon – 8PM with a break from 3 – 4PM.

The 2017 Spring Expo & Home Show is a two day show on March 31 & April 1.  The event will be held at The Orchards Ballroom, 1580 Orchard Dr.  Vendors and entertainment.  Door prizes include electronics, furniture, outdoor grills, and gift cards. Free Admission & Free Parking.

The children’s classic “The Velveteen Rabbit” will be performed by the Chambersburg Ballet Theater Company on Saturday (4/1) and Sunday (4/2) at 3PM. Call the Capitol Theatre Box Office at 717-263-0202 or purchase tickets online HERE.  Told through music and dance, The Velveteen Rabbit celebrates the special relationship between a little boy and his stuffed rabbit, and the enduring power of love.

The Inn at Ragged Edge hosts an evening with John Kaboff and Brad Clark on Saturday, April 1st,  7PM.  Free admission, donations accepted. Limited seating, please contact the Inn to reserve seats.

Greencastle

Mason Dixon BBQ Services is kicking off BBQ season with a Spring Open House on April 1 from 9AM – 4PM.  60 Professional Teams competing in The Iron-Man BBQ Competition.   Over 600lbs of Wings for you to try and vote for your favorite – with proceeds going to the Relay 4 Life of Greencastle.  Free Samples – Demonstrations – Big Green Eggfest – Special Pricing throughout the store – Vendors – 104.7 WAYZ Ticket Giveaway.

2017 Spring & Summer Children’s & Maternity Consignment Event will be held at Blue Heron Events, 407 S. Washington Street (2 miles off Exit 5 I81).  March 30th – March 31st 10 AM- 7PM;  April 1st 8AM – Noon (1/2 off select items).
